At Red Carpet Boot Camps’ fitness center, trainers motivate others toward fitness through classes such as spin, yoga, and Reformer Pilates. When not in the gym, trainers lead their charges outside for 60-minute boot-camp sessions that combine everything from their classes, as well as resistance, cardio, and calisthenics. Understanding that pushing muscles to their limits is only part of the equation, Red Carpet also offers nutrition coaching.
“Never follow someone up a mountain if they have not already conquered it themselves," advises wellness instructor and RCBC owner Silvia Castro. By that standard, she's well worth following when it comes to getting in shape. After shedding 160 pounds and keeping it off for seven years, Castro—also known as InStyle Silvia—is determined to help others achieve their own transformations.
RCBC's calendar is filled with boot camp classes that not only incorporate cardio and resistance training but also nutritional guidance to help clients look and feel healthier. The studio also offers Real Ryder spin classes as well as yoga, Pilates, and women's pole fitness.
Jungle Gym & Cafe combines children's activities, fitness classes, and a gourmet café complete with free WiFi and two flat-screen TVs that light up with NFL action on Saturdays and Sundays. Children can cavort across bounce houses and block pits or partake in basketball and badminton, while watchful parents dine on turkey wraps or Greek salads. Meanwhile, group fitness-classes practice cardio dance, yoga, and aerobics. Inside the medical spa suite, a doctor helps parents regain their youth with chemical peels, Botox, and vein repair treatments.
The year 1986 was a health- and fitness-focused one. Mike Tyson became the youngest heavyweight boxing champion in history, smoking was banned on all forms of public transportation, and Being-Fit opened its doors. The gym sought to supply its members with everything they needed to reach their personal fitness goals. Though its equipment has been overhauled, Being-Fit’s mission hasn't changed in the intervening two decades.
Today, the gym's trainers host more than 30 varieties of group fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, and Zumba. When not in class, students can take advantage of the cardio theater, where favorite shows and video clips of kittens wiping out on treadmills play constantly as people jog in place. Additionally, the gym’s personal trainers construct individualized workouts during one-on-one sessions, equipping members with repeatable exercises crafted to address personal fitness goals.
Party Fitness Studio owner Ninfa Skezas's dance experience has led her all over the world and landed her appearances on TV networks such as Telemundo, Univision, NBC, and Fox. With a background in styles such as merengue, salsa, flamenco, and hip-hop, she fuses these moves into fun Zumba fitness classes set to the tune of Latin beats. Like doctors and street magicians, Zumba instructors must be certified, which is why Ninfa has achieved multiple beginner to advanced Zumba certifications.
