Trainers work to provide a complete personal fitness programs and keep their students accountable for showing up to class and putting in a good workout, and they offer exercise modifications that help customize the workouts to every ability level. Classes develop camaraderie among participants as they encourage each other through varied exercises, whether they're swinging kettlebells, practicing kickboxing motions, running a mile, or cooling down with yoga poses. Nashville Kettlebell is led by Master Russian Kettlebell Certified (RKC) instructor David Whitley, a very strong man whose teaching style revolves around a brutal minimalist fitness philosophy. All classes on the schedule are designed around the four basic movements of this philosophy: the swing, the Turkish get-up, the military press, and the snatch and squats. Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?

Absolutely. We try to keep our playlists current and upbeat. We will occasionally throw in a "throw back" tune that everyone loves and gets everyone into the workout groove.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?

We have high-energy and motivating trainers.
