LA Boxing offers fitness classes in boxing, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts. The proprietary style of the LA Boxing workout is a mixture of genuine fight training, engaging fitness, and stronger-than-earth gravity. Quasi-boxers and martial artists may burn from 800 to more than 1,000 calories during these total-body routines, which combine external inspiration with jukes, jabs, and kicks. Both men and women are welcome in the ring, where they'll learn new techniques and methods to blissfully break into a sweat in an energetic group setting. Gloves are provided during the one-month trial membership, as are a set of reusable pro-quality hand wraps and complimentary motivational mumbling from Burgess Meredith (all three subject to availability).
Now in its 32nd year, Pacific Ballet Conservatory teaches the art of rhythm and poise inside four modern studios. Its highly trained instructors?whose international credentials stem from such centers as the Joffrey Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet?mentor both children and adults with an unflagging focus on personal development. Evaluations at six-month intervals gauge every student's progress in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary styles. Pupils can also showcase their talents during the Spring Performance Series, which emulates professional theater productions with special effects and Muppet-filled box seats. Many dancers do indeed progress to the spotlight after their schooling, performing onstage at the San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, and even Disneyland.
Master Tony Park began teaching tae kwon do at the age of 12, just five years after his first lessons. Since then, not much has changed. With 38 years of experience, the native South Korean still teaches his country's martial art, but he now does it at his own facility, National Taekwondo Academy, Inc. There, Park and his staff of seasoned instructors orchestrate self-defense and fitness programs for all ages: kids, teens, adults, and mummies.
J.R. practically started dancing as soon as she learned to walk, and began teaching dance when she was 14. Some say her love of dance is infectious, and with that passion it wasn't long until she had her own studio, with another location opening soon in Corona Del Mar. Today, she teaches students ages 4 to adults a variety of dance styles for performance and competition. Whether customers are trying to have fun or advance to the professional level, they all have the opportunity to perform at specials events or venues, such as LA Clippers games. Through these performances and their private studio, Solid Dance Crew aims to provide a Hollywood-like experience.
