Outside Reflections Salon’s front doors, softly cascading water flows from a five-tiered stone fountain, an ideal welcome for guests entering the salon for pampering hair care. Along with cuts for men, women, and kids, the always-friendly stylists transform tresses with Japanese chemical straightening and keratin treatments, plus hair extensions. Waxing, mani-pedis, and facials are also available, and the team can render spiral perms to mimics the look of staircases in a firehouse or silo apartment.
Inside Beehive Salon & Spa, a small army of professionals tends to everything from patrons’ mugs to pinkie toes. Stylists detach split ends and unwanted length from hair and imbue clients’ heads with new hues via highlights and all-over color. Above-the-neck pampering bestows on guests artfully arched brows and facials that leave skin as fresh as the juice of mouthy oranges. Patrons can also cover unruly nails with full sets of gel nails for dazzling finishes.
The decor at Vis a V salon is alive with color. Bright orange lights hang from the ceiling, casting a glow on the yellow and lime-green walls and the modern red furniture. These jazzy accents are a perfect complement to the artistry of stylist Michelle Fuhs, who revamps strands with flattering layers and bold highlights. Clients also may request a conditioning treatment or seek Michelle's makeup expertise during a one-on-one consultation.
In the spirit of its name, The Grove Salon serves as a beautifying haven with a list of classic salon services. The skilled staff specializes in snipping and straightening hair into modern styles, and adds eye-catching color using brands including Redken and Pureology. Since feeling one's best means more than just sporting a chic cut and ingesting three blue ribbons per day, the salon also offers teeth whitening services.
At Scarlett Salon & Spa, Amy Yang works alongside a talented team of fellow stylists as she rejuvenates her clients’ hair. Aside from styling, Amy also specializes in hair color, extensions, waxing, and eyebrow tinting.
Of all of the services at Taglio Salon & Spa, owner and stylist Jennifer Nunez's favorite is hair coloring. "Someone can walk in with flat, ugly, torn-up hairs," she said, "and in two hours change to a completely different person. It's instant gratification." Though the color results may seem instantaneous, Jennifer's acquisition of styling skills in the beauty industry has been anything but.
She first became interested in hairstyling in high school, when she did her friends' hair. After college, Jennifer used her marketing degree to land a corporate job, then promptly quit to enroll in a salon academy. Jennifer's mentor was a platform artist for celebrity stylist Trevor Sorbie who taught her not only the fundamentals of working with hair but also the importance of education and technique. Today, at her own salon, Jennifer requires quarterly continuing-education classes for all stylists.
Even the decor at Taglio Salon & Spa took time. Jennifer and an artist designed the floor—a cloudy swirl of greens and blues—to suggest an ocean reef. As organic as the finished product may look, the process involved an airbrush, pump spray, and painstaking effort. This philosophy of performing diligent, patient work to achieve spectacular results runs through all of Taglio's services, which include applying polish to nails, exfoliating faces, or slowly eroding mountainsides by breathing heavily on them.
