Colette Chavez Walker listens with her hands. As they glide over sore bodies during deep-tissue and Thai massages, her hands intuitively follow and react to shifting and fading tensions. To teach her hands this ability, she studied with massage masters from various parts of the world. To learn Hawaiian-style mana lomi massage, she traveled to the islands and apprenticed with a native Hawaiian practitioner. To learn orthopedic massages, she studied under the tutelage of James Waslaski, the founder of the technique.
Though her hands never seem to get tired or run out of claps, Colette occasionally transfers them from physical work to pure energy manipulation. During reiki sessions, she applies her more than 10 years of experience to balance the body's chakras and promote healing.
