The boutique boasts a collection of doggie essentials, colorful canine clothing, toys, and services to ensure your furry friend is up to snuff. Appropriately attire an affenpinscher by bestowing her with a Juicy Couture embroidered velour hoodie ($45) for a romp in the park or an Oscar Newman peppermint pixie dress ($82) for an elegant evening. Gifting a giant schnauzer with one of Lola & Penelope's toys, such as the squeakable Harry Barker hemp dog bone ($9.75), will keep tempted teeth from chewing all your sun-dried socks. Or peruse Lola & Penelope's plentiful selection of cute leather collars ($12 and up), carriers ($49 and up), dishes ($15 and up), and deodorizing shampoos ($13.75 and up) to find the finishing touch to your home dog or cat collection. Different from the average pet-boarding facility, Paradise 4 Paws has a bone-shaped pool surrounded by more than 20,000 square feet of indoor play area, plush accommodations, and comfy boarding suites. Staff members roam the facility 24/7, playing with animals during the day, tucking them in at night, and performing à la carte services such as grooming, obedience training, health checkups, and canine massage therapy. Paradise 4 Paws has its own training academy, and its pet-care professionals have received pet-first-aid certification from the American Red Cross.
The pet-minded staff cares about pet owners, as well, granting access to the play area’s real-time webcams and offering airport parking and transportation.
The scene is a familiar one: hotel guests lounge beside the outdoor pool as staff members filter around, offering refreshments or collecting clients for a spa treatment. However, at Pet Paradise, the pool is bone shaped and all the guests are dogs. This luxurious scene is one cat and dog owners can find at this boarding and daycare facility that has been owner Fred Goldsmith's pride and joy for a decade. The animal lover was inspired to start his own pet hotel when he simply couldn’t find a place he was comfortable leaving his bichon frise when he went on vacation.
Fred made Pet Paradise to his exact specifications, and the pet hotel's amenities reflect the loving care he lavishes on his own beloved pup. Dogs and cats can luxuriate in spa-quality grooming treatments or burn off some energy during group playtime. In the evening, pets can settle into plush bedding and feel safe knowing that the dedicated live-in staff resides just a bark away. Nocturnal kitties spend the night exploring their own private six-level cat condos while gentle spa music fills the air to keep them entertained. In case of any emergencies, Pet Paradise keeps veterinarians on-call, and in the event of a snack emergency, each staff member is a certified bacon cook.
Led by owner Amanda Hudspeth, Great Griffin Farms' friendly staff cultivates an atmosphere of equine safety and instruction amid 25 acres of landscaped farmland. With instruction for all levels, coaches and instructors draw on decades of competition and teaching experience to school riders in the hunter/jumper discipline. Private lessons host riders aged 5 and older in indoor and outdoor facilities, and competitions allow students to compete for ribbons. Pupils will learn empathy, build riding confidence, and bond with their carefully selected hoofed companion. Great Griffin Farms also sells and leases horses to enthusiasts who want to spend more time in the saddle and less time in a living-room chair shaped like a saddle
A row of pines encloses Bridgeton Stables, which boards equine friends in well-equipped facilities that include tack rooms, trail access, and a lounge. Indoor and outdoor arenas set the stage for Jessica Schmidle's horseback-riding lessons, which are taught in three competitive concentrations: Western pleasure, barrel racing, and pole bending.
The canine caretakers at BauserHaus keep watch over their guests throughout a 7,000-square-foot facility. Organized by size, dogs spend all day trotting about indoor and outdoor play areas. Come nighttime, boarding dogs snooze in private 5'x5' pens furnished with beds and, like the homes of football stars, astroturf carpeting.
