Led by fitness savant Nicole Almeida, NikkiSquared's P.U.S.H. Boot Camps bring the individualized focus of a personal trainer out of its natural habitat and into the lives of others for three one-hour sessions per week. Almeida tailors each regimen to the recruit's individualized needs, with an initial nutrition consultation, medical-history overview, and body-composition test. Her three-pronged assault on hindered health habits includes strength conditioning, cardiovascular sweat summoning, and a nutrition overhaul. After a fortnight, fitness-seekers may be left with acorn-smashing biceps, inflatable-castle-filling lungs, and a stomach that could double as an instrument in a bluegrass ensemble.
From the middle of the workday to the middle of the night, members are always welcome at Positive Body Personal Training & Fitness Center. The 24-hour gym lets members set their own hours, granting all-day access so guests can fit visits into busy schedules or boring overnight stakeouts. The staff keeps all the equipment clean and well maintained, so members can comfortably work up a sweat while curling free weights, flexing with LifeFitness circuit equipment, or watching the high-definition television screens attached to each cardio machine. Positive Body's team of trainers also gives members the instruction and encouragement necessary to get in shape though personal-training sessions and 23 group fitness classes.
Anytime Fitness, which boasts more than 1,800 clubs in North America, makes it easier for average folks to etch out time for exercise by doing one simple thing: staying open 24 hours a day for 365 days a year. As fitness seekers challenge themselves on cardio and Hammer Strength machines and hoist Iron Grip free weights in clean, well-stocked facilities, security monitoring ensures they?re safe and producing enough sweat to meet official government standards. Members can also ramp up their exercise regimens with the help of Anytime Fitness?s staff of personal trainers, who demonstrate moves and sling motivating tips. After workouts, guests can shower in the private restrooms or hop into one of the tanning booths.
Curves trades in competitive rows of workout equipment for a circle of hydraulic resistance machines designed to work with women's bodies and promote weight loss, protect against osteoporosis, and deal with arthritis. During 30-minute circuit classes, trainees form a convivial circle as they rotate from machine to machine, timed by a soundtrack of fun, upbeat music. Health-minded toe-tappers can attend eight classes of the new Curves Circuit with Zumba Fitness, which mixes Zumba dance moves with resistance exercises to create a muscle-toning combo that's almost as fun as your Jane Fonda salsercise tapes.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
As teachers, we try to bring fresh ways of practicing and observing the poses taught. It is our job to encourage the student to be their own final authority during the practice. The intention is always towards healing, strengthening, and unionizing the body, mind and spirit.
Do you run your gym according to a particular exercise philosophy?
While initially trained in the Sivananda traditions, we have studied, practiced, and taught several other styles [of yoga].
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
We start with yogic breathing exercises. We then move into a warm up that flows into what might be our focus for the day. The class will then move into a cool down period, always followed by the final resting pose, where we practice meditation, guided imagery, and stillness.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Tiger's World of Martial Arts' signature Tigervascular class challenges patrons with cardio-heavy workouts founded in boxing and kickboxing techniques, and the MMA Fight Class prepares them for the ring with techniques from diverse arts such as muay thai, jujitsu, and tae kwon do. The kids' MMA classes focus more on arming youngsters with the mental fortitude to succeed in all areas of life, including school, dealing with bullies, and running for president at age 10. For adults seeking a long-term transformation, the 12-week challenge combines elements of exercise and diet into three months of intense training fueled by staff support and attention. Both male and female personal trainers offer private sessions.
