Yellow hydraulic lifts hoist cars above Aurora Car Care & RV Center’s shop floor, revealing their undercarriages to mechanics’ discerning eyes, handy tools, and nimble fingers. After repairing all manner of auto maladies, such as off-kilter suspensions and spent tires, techs focus on cars’ appearances with detailing services, such as interior steam cleaning and hand-applied coatings of wax. Aurora Car Care also rents out and repairs RVs and stocks race-engine parts to soup up a hot rod or blender in need of some extra juice.

The Arcade & Attica Railroad began its existence as a handful of incomplete tracks, proceeding in stops and starts through the Allegheny River valley. When the Pennsylvania Railroad Company decided it needed service to Buffalo, it bought up the disparate stretches of rail line and linked them together. The company and its successors hardly imagined it to be one of their more long-lasting endeavors, but the little railroad weathered track washouts and bankruptcies and even made it through the Great Depression without laying off a single employee. In the 1950s, its owners decided to try short, scenic passenger excursions to bolster their flagging freight business, and the tourist line as it exists today was born.

These days, trains launch from historical Arcade Station, which is a small museum of American railroad history. A restored steam engine idles out front, waiting to pull up to 382 passengers through countryside largely unchanged since the 1880s. In addition to stunning views, excursions provide photo opportunities with the locomotive and the chance to enthusiastically wear striped overalls in public.

The Grand Mac Daddy may look like any other chartered bus as it cruises down the highway, but behind its dark, tinted windows is a full-blown party. Thirty-six passengers can climb aboard this road-tripping bar, outfitted with a club-style sound system, a theater lined with four flat-screen TVs, and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy drinks. The lively party mobile also houses an onboard microwave where revelers can heat up meals or s'mores since campfires are not allowed. For smaller-scale celebrations, MAC Transportation and Tours, LLC deploys a fleet of 20-passenger limo buses and 5-passenger corporate SUVs, which are also outfitted with flat-screen TVs and advanced sound systems.

The company’s courteous chauffeurs also escort clients through wine tours, and shuttle passengers to and from the airport and Buffalo Bills games. Some of MAC Transportation’s vehicles have also transported celebrities, such as Richard Simmons and Jersey Shore’s “The Situation.”
