The one-hour golf lesson, which includes all course or practice-facility fees, requires golfers to bring their own clubs to have their golf needs assessed and addressed by a PGA-certified instructor. The private schooling may include tips on proper alignment, grip, posture, ball position, swing mechanics, and more. Cloud 9 has partnered with golfing professionals and tee-off locales all over the country, including six participating teachers and courses in the Miami area: Daniel Larkin at the Atlantis Country Club in Atlantis; Doug Feldman at The Club at Pelican Bay in Daytona Beach; Marty Maisa at Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill; Lucas Cohen at Grand Palms Resort & Country Club in Pembroke Pines, multiple instructors at Palm-Aire Golf Academy in Pompano Beach, and Mark Arnold at Longboat Key Club & Resort in Longboat Key.
The certified dance instructors at Arthur Murray Dance Studio teach beginner-level ballroom, Latin, swing, and social-partnership dance classes in group settings, and also offer private lessons to singles, couples, and singles perched on the shoulders of couples. Instructors emphasize technique, style, and variation of dance patterns during 45-minute group lessons. Group classes also give the opportunity to dance with a variety of partners, develop good dancing habits, and meet other students in the studio. The size of group lessons varies from as few as four students to as many as 20, enabling rhythmic upgrades for both small families and aspiring battalions. Classes take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Instructor Antonio Silva started swimming competitively in high school and has been teaching the technique ever since. First as an assistant coach and now as the owner of Delphi Swim, he teaches swimmers how to float, paddle, and butterfly stroke their way through the water. Classes cater to kids of all ages, with survival skills for small children and freestyle, breast stroke, and underwater swimming for kids who have mastered basic aquatic movements. He can also coach kids who want to swim competitively or chase the Loch Ness monster on family vacation.
Loyalty to digital cameras’ factory settings can hinder photographers shooting in unusual venues. Photographer Paulo Jordao teaches his students to manually adjust their settings to suit their surroundings during hands-on workshops, whose curricula also emphasize lighting, composition, and post-shoot editing. Open to all skill levels, the workshops can expand semi-professionals’ skill sets or aid parents trying to document their tots’ childhoods without adding extensive footnotes to their height chart.
When he’s not teaching workshops, Jordao, along with his wife, Peggy, who is also a photographer, can be found snapping photos of newly engaged couples, capturing sultry boudoir shoots, and shooting videos for special events.
Lazy Meadows Farm's internationally trained and USDF-certified owner, Michele Herrmann, focuses exclusively on studying and sharing dressage-style riding with students of all experience levels. Novice riders learn to trot from within two riding arenas, while more advanced riders gallop and prance past wavering palms and rustling pines. The docile equine animals inhabit 14 dressage stalls that share a verdant 5.5-acre landscape with a terra-cotta-roofed barn and a stock of big cats for very advanced riders.
