Designing Women Hair Salon
The team of creative stylists at Designing Women Hair Salon strives to realize clients' hair-related visions with thorough consultations. The crew has been cutting and coloring hair for more than 20 years—or the amount of time needed to give the Statue of Liberty a perm—and employs Sebastian products to sculpt hair into sleek styles or wedding-worthy updos.
The stylists cultivate a friendly, welcoming vibe at individually decorated, wood-trimmed stations, which define each of their personalities against a backdrop of earthy reddish-brown walls and pops of green from plants.
The treatment menu at Sun Spa enables clients to select their preferred method of tanning from a roster that includes six levels of UV tanning beds and the UV-free VersaSpa system. Inside each of the five locations, Sun Spa's bronzing booths remain available 24 hours a day, presenting patrons with the opportunity to work around unorthodox schedules or warm up after bone-chilling nightmares. A selection of lotions by Australian Gold augments the effects of light-powered tanning excursions, and a storefront display of swimwear and handmade jewelry complement newly golden glows.
A Pivot Point–trained stylist with numerous hours of continuing-education courses, Carrie Thomas nimbly trims tresses and fashions strands into modern coiffures. Carrie lathers locks in a rich shampoo to rinse away dirt, excess oil, nesting barrettes, and tangled strands of phone cords acting as hair ties. Holstering her scissors, Carrie Thomas deftly drafts haircuts for men, women, and children to frame faces and match personal tastes before snipping manes into the desired shape. After cleansing and cutting curls, Carrie unfurls follicles under the warm breeze of a blow dryer and soothing strokes of a brush.
Expert hairstylist Rachel Johnson deftly shears, shapes, and styles tresses at Aspen Spalon. Hair feathers ($10–$15 each) and strands of hair bling ($4 each) add an avian accent or tinselly touch to coiffures, providing extra texture without the hassle of braiding in silly straws. Tame overgrown tufts with a haircut and style, unleashing a barrage of snip-snips to tame sprawling head gardens into trim topiaries. The salon supplements haircutting services and scissor-throwing competitions with Redken conditioning treatments to soften and smoothen locks and eyebrow waxing to craft artistic arches.
Though named for its styling services, Teri’s Hair Loft employs a staff whose expertise doesn’t stop at the scalp. The full-service salon and spa’s cream walls and subtle floral accents make for an appropriately relaxing background as registered massage therapists, stylists, and aestheticians work side-by-side to weave together beauty and relaxation. They greet every man, woman, and dry-skinned golem who enters the salon with a smile and a personal consultation.
Among the salon’s customized services are keratin smoothing treatments for the hair, facials and waxing treatments for the skin, and massages in styles that range from Swedish to hot stone.
Inside His & Hers Studio, the nail salon floor is a flurry of activity as expert nail technicians and stylists set about carefully coiffing and grooming clients. They trim and clean nails during manicures and pedicures, outfitting nails with long-lasting, chip-resistant Shellac polish that sticks it out for two weeks no matter how much gossip cuticles dish its way. His & Hers Hair Studio also has a staff of experienced hair stylists who use split-end-stopping scissors as deftly as they paint on depth-enhancing hair color.
