Like any passionate artist, Shannon practices her craft in all areas of life. When she's not at home painting or creating handmade jewelry, she mans a styling station at Jhon Josephson Salon. Here, she draws from fifteen years of experience styling for both men and women, cutting and coloring their hair, and smoothing visages with facial waxing. Besides being trained with Framesi, TIGI, Joico, and Redken, she also beautifies guests with professional products from Aquage, CHI, and Enjoy—all of which currently line the salon’s shelves. Shannon seldom double-books appointments, allowing her to pay careful attention to the looks of each patron during highlighting sessions or games of peekaboo.

The technicians at Diva Nails beautify hands and feet with manicures and pedicures brightened by eye-catching extras. As each client relaxes in the salon's quiet, one-on-one nail area, a nail technician refines fingertips and coats nails with standard lacquer or Harmony brand Gelish polish. Available in 72 colors, Gelish formulas go on like a polish but dry underneath a lamp like a gel or a newborn chicken for up to two weeks of chip-free glamour.

Salon Exposé's savvy stylists update ‘dos with contemporary cuts and natural-looking color using Italian-made Davines haircare products. Trained colorists can brighten drab locks with a two-color partial foil highlight or permanently dye strands to match your favorite movie star's workout wardrobe using a milk-protein conditioning color system that tints tendrils while adding softness and shine. Strategically executed snips and a fresh style update newly hued tresses with texture, sleek edges, and increased aerodynamic lift on particularly windy days. The clean white walls, dark furniture, and geometric artwork lend a modern ambiance to the bright and airy salon.

The Shellac manicure begins like many manicures do—but immediately there is something different. Star Nails’ meticulous technicians trim, file, and shape fingernails, tame cuticles, and apply seemingly standard polish with a remarkable attention to detail. And then something really sets it apart. Hands suddenly find themselves beneath the glow of a UV lamp, where rays typically associated with the sun and George Clooney’s blinding smile have been corralled to cure that seemingly ordinary polish into chip-resistant nail shields that last for up to two weeks. They also pamper sore and tired feet with skin-softening salt scrubs, hot-towel wraps, and hot-stone massages.

Licensed massage therapist Mandi Rhue of Aspen Salon and Spa soothes muscles using techniques designed to emphasize either relaxation or pain relief. Calming palms and fingers perform a Swedish massage, which unties muscular knots and reties them in the shape of puppies to reduce stress. The gentle technique makes a fitting introduction for back rub rookies. Firmer pressure powers the deep-tissue massage, which finds Mandi pressing harder to relieve the stiffness lurking below the body’s surface. A therapeutic massage calms the nervous system by encouraging clients to imagine achy joints in their underwear and by applying tender kneading that targets pain and inflammation.
