Dance Amore's chief instructor Deborah Loomis has been performing for more than 20 years, boasting a resumè that includes acting, dancing, and singing with the Massachusetts Allstate Choir and taking to the stage as a female lead in Bye Bye Birdie. At Dance Amore, she puts this experience to use helping children and adults alike tap into their melodious side through an eclectic curriculum. Her dance classes cover tap, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop for different age groups atop Harlequin floors. She also translates choreography into calorie-busting workouts with Zumba programs. At sessions for toddlers, she encourages freeform movement and the development of motor skills, outlining dance's foremost basics, such as refraining from repeatedly hitting the speakers to find the music inside. Deborah guides pupils in the process of making their own music, as well. She oversees beginner's flute, piano, and voice lessons that set the stage for future practice. Parents and loved ones keep abreast of their children's progress by attending yearly recitals, where each student showcases their burgeoning talent.

With 38 years of teaching experience and a certified national examiner for Dance Masters of America in tap, ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern, owner and instructor Kathi Nallia expertly guides students through the mysteries of movement. Aspiring hoofers of any age may enroll in a number of classes, whether it’s for improving energy and flexibility or saving the local summer camp from foreclosure in a marathon dance-off. Students are welcome to explore the expressive grace of ballet, jazz, or tap in the Adult Dance class, land a leading role with instruction in the Musical Theatre Training course, or show a toddler the basics of rhythm in Artistic Tots. Nallia's considerate dance instructors will patiently work with students of all kinds, whether they're competitive tap dancers or haven't danced since Bob Dole's "The Funkadelic-In-Chief" presidential campaign. Walk-ins are not accepted, as the instructor registers students on a first-come, first-served basis. Different classes are available six days a week. Call ahead for schedules.
Quality Hill Playhouse parts its curtains through October 23 for Noël and Gertie, devised by Sheridan Morley and featuring the words and music of Noël Coward. One of six musicals and cabaret revues the theater puts on annually, Noël and Gertie is based on Coward's own diaries and musical compositions and delves into the friendship of two former stage personalities, Noël Coward (Robert Gibby Brand) and Gertrude Lawrence (Melinda MacDonald). The witty and occasionally heartfelt performance celebrates the fun and sophistication of the roaring '20s without the drawback of state-mandated lessons to learn the Charleston. Quality Hill Playhouse's intimate 153-seat theater ensures patrons don't miss a single sight or sound, and the newly renovated lobby bristles with casual elegance. Multiple performances take to the stage each week in order to accommodate busy schedules and revisit important plot points for forgetful goldfish.
