John F. Hogan Jr. was a consistent man. He had been clocking in to the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company’s corporate office in Akron each day for more than 25 years, learning the ins and outs of its tires. Then, in 1984, he made a slight change. He decided to move to Virginia, open Hogan & Sons Goodyear, and share his knowledge of Goodyear’s tires there. Since then, his business has grown right along with his family—there are now eight locations and many more Hogans. All of the full-service automotive shops have complimentary shuttles and, of course, Goodyear tires. The full-service auto repair shop is staffed by continually trained ASE-certified technicians, who swap out motor oil, realign wheels, inspect brakes, and teach air-conditioning units how to whistle during maintenance and repair services. They service all makes and models and include a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on all their work.
AAMCO Transmissions' locally owned outposts dot cities and towns from coast to coast. Since AAMCO opened 50 years ago, its transmission masters have extended their range of services to the realm of total car care, offering cars with faulty brakes, dirty oil, or broken air conditioners some one-on-one time with a handy mechanic. This commitment to full auto health also underlines AAMCO's promise that every vehicle receiving service is privy to a free multipoint inspection, during which mechanics explore beneath the hood, under the car, and in the GPS navigator's psyche to ensure safe operations and optimal performance.
Elite Car Care Centers' ASE-certified technicians revamp waning cars and engines with a vast range of repair and maintenance services. Focusing on preventative maintenance, the techs change oil, rotate tires, and perform thorough inspections of the intricate belts and hamster wheels of the modern car engine to insure their proper function. Elite Car Care Center's talented body repairmen can handle crinkled doors, dented bumpers, and beaten grills. If a car can't make the journey on its own four wheels, staffers will go on-location and tow it to their nearest shop, and a shuttle service gives customers a lift to work or home during lengthier service sessions.
AAA-approved and bustling with ASE-certified technicians, Dulles Shell Service Center mends domestic and foreign cars with an array of repair and maintenance services bolstered by computerized diagnostic technology. Led by master technicians Mike Jacobs and Gary Martz, the staff dives under hoods and chassis to inject engines with oil and service brakes and exhaust systems. The state-certified emissions repair facility also administers safety and emissions inspections to keep vehicles road-safe and smog at a minimum. During repairs that require overnight stays, the facility's complimentary shuttle service whisks auto owners to workplaces, homes, or makeout points within a 3-mile radius of the shop.
One could argue whether or not people actually have a favorite color, but the detail technicians at Xtreme Auto Details would argue they do. Since their shop opened in 1999, they've developed a specialty in detailing black and red vehicles. They revivify the colors during tiered detail packages that employ a repertoire of techniques, including hand washes and over-spray- and odor-removal treatments. Though the staff's fondness for black and red may influence their decision to have a Chicago Bulls–themed wedding, it doesn't prohibit them from welcoming other shades of vehicles into their shop, which offers free WiFi for waiting customers.
Get your chassis classy in time for rolled-down-window weather with the full-service treatment, including up to five quarts of Valvoline oil, a new Valvoline oil filter, and vehicle lubrication of chassis components (if required). The procedure also includes a complete examination of everything from tire pressure to transfer-case fluid. Customers pay the difference for any excess quarts of oil or certain replacement filters (see the fine print above).
