At Boomers!, thrill-seeking families and fun-enabling friends can attack a variety of appealing attractions, including mini golf, batting cages, bumper boats, and the button-mashing joys housed inside the exhilarating game room. The Vista location entertains families of sharpshooters with a blacklight-illuminated laser-tag arena before little ones climb and crawl through the Kidopolis play area. The El Cajon and San Diego locations let rivals celebrate the spirit of competition as they fly past each other in speedy go-karts or have a snail-paced Ferris wheel race at the kid's county fair. Unlimited pass holders at the El Cajon location can also scale the 32-foot-tall climbing wall, which, like America, enables citizens to climb to the top via myriad routes.

The family-owned Sun Valley Golf Course cultivates a welcoming atmosphere that sets nerves at ease so that youngsters and beginners can make a stress-free foray into the lifelong game. The par 27 excursion politely omits any tee shot longer than 145 yards, eliminating the trepidation felt on long tee shots over water or asteroid craters at larger venues. Nevertheless, small greens and quick changes in elevation keep even more experienced players on their toes and help them to hone short-game technique. The course's short layout ensures that players average less than 90 minutes for a nine-hole round, leaving plenty of time in the day to polish lucky golf balls.

Its simple course layout makes Sun Valley Golf Course a natural place for young club cadets to take up the game. Junior golf programs led by instructor Mike Cortes help kids to develop proper form at an early age through camps, clinics, and classes.

Course at a Glance: * 9-hole, par 27 course * Total length of 1,057 yards from the back tees * Two sets of tees per hole

Naming your kids Oak, Willow, and Pine Glen might raise some eyebrows—unless, of course, those "kids" are actually golf courses. That's certainly the case at Sycuan Golf Resort, where a family of three distinct layouts presents an array of challenges across 54 holes. Located near some of San Diego's most popular attractions, the resort has played host to a number of prestigious tournaments, including the Junior World Championships and PGA Chapter Shootout.

The resort's pair of championship courses—Oak and Willow—boast numerous similarities. Both check in at just under 6,700 yards and prominently feature the Sweetwater River in their layout. Pine Glen, meanwhile, is a challenging par three course that stretches to just over 2,400 yards. After severe flooding in the late 1970s, each course received a facelift from renowned architect Ted Robinson, Sr. He added elevation changes, tiered greens, and even man-made lakes that test drive accuracy and sate thirsty golf carts mid-round.

When golfing legend Gary Player designed Steele Canyon Golf Club, he did so in a manner that both respected and showcased the region's natural beauty and terrain. Gary divvied the 27-hole championship course into a trio of nine-hole courses, each presenting golfers with different challenges and vistas.

Located on the Ranch Course, the signature hole, "Parachute," has players tee off from more than 175 feet above the fairway. Not to be outdone, the Canyon Course features some lofty shots of its own. Hole four, for instance, challenges players with a sloping two-tiered green, but earned the nickname "Goosebumps" for its panoramic view of the canyons.
