Though the walls at The Royal Brush are painted in a rainbow of colors, the pottery pieces that line the shelves stand out as white, blank canvases. Dishes, cups, and figurines await coatings of provided paints, welcoming fledgling artists to unleash their creativity or to fulfill the weekly quota of spilling paint on their shirts. The studio welcomes parties for special events such as birthdays, bridal showers, and ladies’ nights and encourages planners to bring their own food and beverages, including BYOB drinks for adult gatherings.

Christian Youth Theater helps nurture kids' artistic talents through theater arts classes and camps. Children between the ages of 4 and 18 glean tips from experienced teachers, such as how to safely perform slapstick stunts, design a set, and overcome their fear of auditions. To that end, the theater welcomes students to try out for its Broadway-style productions and to show off their skills in end-of-term showcases.

When budding artists step into Uptown Art, inspiration swarms their minds. Within a lofty, open studio, paintings from past pupils line the walls and easels sit on long tables, waiting to host their next masterpiece. After selecting a theme from the schedule, adult painters tie on an apron, load up a palette with acrylic paints, and sip a BYO beverage for courage before searching within for their inner Picasso and the Lego they swallowed as a child. After two to three hours of socialization, discovery, and instructor guidance, students return home with a masterfully rendered landscape, an abstract still life, or an expressive butterfly. During kids' classes, wee ones gain inspiration and a helping hand from the friendly teachers. Daytime sessions focus on topics fitting for growing minds, such as painting a teddy bear or using shapes to express existential yearning.

Photographers Paul and Sheri Bartoszek have a knack for capturing images at exactly the right moment, whether they’re snapping shots of a newly wedded couple slowly waltzing across the dance floor or shooting film of a musician as his fingers fly up and down a guitar amid thousands of screaming fans. No matter if they’re in the Serendipity Studio or the brand-new downtown Nashville studio, the photographers strive to take pictures worthy of placement among their other works, many of which hang in galleries across the United States and Canada. They then develop prints, which can framed or pinned proudly to clothes, and supply clients with high-resolution digital images.

In addition to snapping their own shots, the shutterbugs teach photography classes. Students learn how to operate point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras and how to get the most out of natural or artificial lighting in various indoor and outdoor locations, such as the square in Murfreesboro or a doghouse.
