Though they all share the same name, all eight of McLoone's Restaurants' locations have their own interior charm. With dining rooms adjacent to off-track betting facilities, McLoone’s Woodbridge Grille and McLoone’s Bayonne Grille are peppered with an energetic ambiance that fills their brightly colored spaces. Televisions at every table keep diners abreast of the results of each race, and the big screens plastered around the restaurants also broadcast NFL, MLB, and college games. Like an indecisive bride’s wedding, each location’s bistro-style menu includes both casual and elegant dishes, from seasoned thai chicken wings and Black Angus burgers to new york strip steak and mango salmon.

Tim's Rivershore Restaurant and Crabhouse celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014. That feat is hardly surprising, considering that it's beloved by both locals and the Washington Post, which named it an Editors' Pick. It's hard to say what Tim's is best known for?their homestyle seafood, laid-back vibe, or whimsical decor. Here's a closer look at the things that have endeared the waterside eatery to so many.

The view: Tim's is right on the banks of one of the widest points of the Potomac River. Guests can enjoy the view while dining on the patio beneath the light of an LED palm tree, or while sipping a beer around the firepit on the restaurant's very own beach. Tim's even has a dock for arrival by boat.

The food: Tim's menu is more about quality than quantity, offering up just a few dozen dishes mostly built around seafood. Homestyle recipes include an oyster stew and a seafood pot pie, though diners can also pile up orders of steamed mussels, clams, snow crab legs, and spiced shrimp.

The events: Despite its summery vibe, Tim's is open year-round and plays hosts to several popular events throughout the year. There's an annual pig roast for Memorial Day, a poker cruise in October, and a February polar plunge that raises goosebump counts and money for the Special Olympics.

As they cross the Spa Creek Bridge and spot the bright-red exterior of the Carrol's Creek Cafe, fans of the restaurant know that they're just a few steps away from a delicious bounty of bay treasures. Planted along the famous restaurant row in the Eastport section of Annapolis, Carrol's Creek overlooks a bustling dock and the city's waters. Such a location hints at the restaurant's specialties, which include Maryland cream of crab soup and herb-encrusted rockfish fillets served over sun-dried tomato pesto risotto. An extensive selection of wine, craft beer, and cocktails complements the restaurant's new-American spread. The views aren't bad, either, since diners can peer out into the bay and watch the sail boats play round after round of Marco Polo.

A charming, two-story octagonal structure that used to be a light house rests above the waters of a harbor on Chesapeake Bay, drawing in visitors with the sounds of laughter and live music on weekends and during live Jazz brunch, as well as the scents of seasonal seafood and gourmet regional cuisine. Sam's executive chef Jim Wilder hitches the menu to the changing seasons to create an ever-changing slate of contemporary American seafood infused with contemporary influences. Guests make pilgrimages by land or by water to sample the restaurant's Sunday brunches of signature crab benedict or lobster mac and cheese, or to savor dinners of fresh Maryland rockfish, lobster rolls, and roasted duck breast.

Sips of wines and nibbles of Maryland crab cakes pair with the live strums of acoustic guitars. Inside, walls decorated with rustic wine crates, a full-service bar, and waterfront windows frame each forkful with an elegant, yet approachable surrounding.
