Woolfson Eye Institute’s founder and medical director Dr. Jonathan Woolfson is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon who has performed more than 70,000 laser vision-correction procedures. Such clinical experience has helped him earn the trust of other medical professionals; he has performed more than 300 surgeries on his fellow eye doctors and trained and certified more than 100 North American LASIK surgeons. Dr. Manly Hutchinson has practiced obstetrics and gynecology for more than 30 years, making his mark as one of the pioneers of endoscopic surgery. He brings the same clinical rigor and professional tact to the practice of aesthetics and to the chore of making his bed in the morning. He's assisted by the staff of licensed aestheticians and registered nurses at the Hutchinson Center for Aesthetic Medicine. They include Angela Heaton, a licensed aesthetician with special interest in working with lasers, treating sun-damaged skin, removing tattoos, and performing a range of other treatments. Dr. Hutchinson turns his focus to minimally invasive techniques for smoothing and contouring the body. Aside from performing laser-assisted liposuction, he relies on laser technology to clear skin of wrinkles, unwanted hair, and superficial veins.
Dr. Oliver Simmons performs surgical procedures and oversees med-spa therapies by drawing upon years of professional experience, including a fellowship in craniofacial and microvascular surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
I started doing research over a year ago after a back injury. I discovered microcurrent as an alternative to surgery. I began to learn about microcurrent for healing sports injuries among many other medical uses, then learned of it's skin rejuvenation benefits. As I continued to learn about microcurrent, it lead me to Ultrasonic Cavitation, which I also spent months researching. After proving to myself the treatments worked and were permanent, I decided this was something I wanted to bring to people at an affordable price. As a women in my late 40s who has tried almost everything out there, only to be disappointed, I am very excited about these treatments. Also being unable to physically workout because of potential future back issues the Ultrasonic Cavitation was the perfect answer for me to get back to a size and shape I am happy about. I'm sure there are many women out there in the same situation and I can help them with either the microcurrent or ultrasonic cavitation.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a client?
Hugs, big smiles, and many thank yous.
Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why?
It's hard to say, but I guess the Cavitation because people are so excited with their results. I think they come in hopeful but are unsure. We measure before and after a treatment, when I take those after measurements and tell them the inch loss after only one 30-40 minute session, they are thrilled.
