To the guides at Southern Beer Tours, every sip of local beer can be an exciting experience. "We enjoy highlighting the big guys, the smaller guys, and the start-ups," says the company's president. As guides point out on their tours, Georgia boasts more than 20 local breweries, and numerous other start-ups expected to yield fresh brews in the near future. The guides don't stick to one route or landscape, either; they constantly rotate the regions they tour in order to visit different breweries, pubs, and the region's naturally-occurring beer geysers.

Air Balloon Rides Atlanta provides passengers with a one-of-a-kind view of the local landscape from the wickered confines of a blissfully bobbing basket. Each sunrise or sunset atmospheric cruise begins with a safety briefing, including an explanation of how to pronounce Sir Isaac Newton's name backwards to reverse the laws of gravity. Following the preliminaries, mock the futile flapping of penguins and ostriches while climbing upwards of 3,000 feet into the air, where the sky chariot and FAA-licensed pilot will carry passengers back to the days when all transportation was balloon-based. After an approximately hour-long flight that might travel as far as 15 miles, passengers celebrate the return to Earth with a Champagne reception and receive a personalized flight certificate autographed by the balloon's pilot, crew chief, and highly literate cirrus clouds.

Calling Stone Mountain massive is something of an understatement. The natural attraction covers a total of 583 acres, and its peak towers 825 feet into the sky. That summit grows closer and closer through the window of Stone Mountain Park's signature attraction, The Summit Skyride. The high-speed cable car sweeps over the mountain, passing by the giant figures etched into the Confederate Memorial Carving and granting its passengers incredible views. Visibility stretches more than 60 miles in all directions, revealing lakes, the Atlanta skyline, and the Appalachian Mountains.

Even with the stunning views, visitors might be tempted to descend from Stone Mountain's top to experience the dozens of attractions offered by the park, including the Scenic Railroad, Ride The Ducks, and SkyHike, one of the nation's largest adventure ropes courses. During warmer months, guests can take to the Songbird Habitat & Trail to hear the songs of local birds. In other parts of the park, they'll find the century-old Grist Mill and a quaint covered bridge. Later in the year, snow falls on Memorial Lawn and brings with it the opportunity to build a snowman, tap him on the shoulder, and then quickly slide away down a 400-foot tubing hill on the mammoth snow park.?Seasonal events?including fall festivals and other holiday festivities?pack the park's calendar, ensuring that lovers of both natural and man-made spectacles find something to marvel at.

Ron Carroll's fascination with helicopters began in Vietnam, when the aircraft transported him and his fellow infantry through the jungles to the front lines. Two Purple Hearts, nearly 20 years, and a stint in the publishing industry later, Carroll happened upon a copy of Flying magazine and his interest quickly rekindled. He continued with flying lessons, deepening his desire to become a helicopter pilot.

Today, Carroll possesses a Gold Seal CFI certification from the Federal Aviation Administration and helms a team of three pilots with more than 25,000 combined hours of flight experience. With a fleet comprising Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters—as well as a TruFlite H flight simulator that lets aspiring pilots practice operating a helicopter while singing and without leaving the ground—the team has trained throngs of airmen, including Governor Sonny Perdue.
