Fully focused on recreation?whether it's kicking a soccer ball or launching off a moon bounce? The Plex and The Plex South offer a huge variety of sports and entertainment for all ages. The original location, The Plex, is home to 45,000 square feet of indoor sports-centric facilities, including an inline rink, two soccer XLTurf fields, and a parking lot for competitive four-square matches. In the warmer months, two stadiums and fifteen outdoor fields are available for activities such as flag football, outdoor soccer, and summer youth programs.
The Plex South takes a more casual approach to activities, with offerings such as mini golf, batting cages, and birthday parties, in addition to sports leagues and programs. Batters of all ages can step into the batting cages for both softball and baseball batting practice, with speeds ranging from slow lob to Randy Johnson fireball. Meanwhile, aspiring golfers or Caddyshack III extras putt and swing clubs year-round at either the driving ranges, or 18-hole mini golf.
Playing mini-golf at The Fun Center at Paige's Crossing is like stepping into a storybook. Three different 18-hole courses transport players to fantastic locales such as castles, Old West streets, or the giant loafer that's home to the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. Indeed, many attractions let visitors escape into their imaginations. They can become racecar drivers at a go-kart track, conductors on a Runaway Train mini-rollercoaster, and PGA stars at the driving range.
If you'd rather not go outside, there's plenty of attractions indoors. A symphony of electronic beeps fills the arcade, where players shoot basketballs or collect redemption tickets from skee-ball machines. In colder months, these indoor spaces transform into a Winter Jumperland complete with inflated bounce castles and plenty of parking for reindeer.
Back Nine Family Fun Center condenses fun into the small, dimpled orbs of golf balls. At its driving range, clubs propel these balls as players hone each aspect of their swing. A nearby mini-golf course offers opportunities for good-natured family competition and successful confrontations with a windmill, and a pro shop stocks used clubs.
The crack of a bat signals another powerful hit inside Extra Innings' spacious, 70-foot-long batting tunnels. Each cage's Iron Mike pitching machine emulates the power and speed of a cantaloupe tossed by Popeye, sending a feast of fastballs screeching toward homerun-hungry hitters. Extra Innings' 12,000-square-foot facility also divvies its plethora of space for private pitching, fielding, and batting lessons hosted by seasoned instructors, as well as a circuit training area furnished with soft-toss machines, tees, and stride boards that further perfect techniques. The onsite pro shop also equips players with all of the baseball essentials.:m]]
