Fort Wayne Ballet began pirouetting in 1956 to enrich the community’s arts offerings with dance instruction and performances. Beginning with its inaugural performance of Cinderella, the ballet company has performed timeless pieces including The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Swan Lake. In addition to its shows and classes, Fort Wayne Ballet maintains strong links to the community, which is evident in its theme: everybody dances. The Ballet works to find adoptive families for dogs through the Muttcracker program, produces trading cards with dancers, I&M linemen and players from each of Fort Wayne’s minor league teams, and stages three main stage productions and three Family Series performances per year.
Jazzercise, a funk-fueled, head-to-toe regimen, is 60 minutes of cardio, strength training, and stretching that incorporates moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training with handheld weights. Class formats are as varied as the workouts themselves. At the Wallen Road location, there are Jazzercises geared toward sculpting your bod, as well as dance-circuit training to help you get those arms you asked for last Christmas. Expect to burn off up to 500 calories with each go-round.

The Foodbank has a straightforward mission: to relieve hunger in the Miami Valley. To achieve this goal, the organization distributes food and other supplies to its network of 85 partner nonprofits, including food pantries, community kitchens, and shelters. The Foodbank also works with local schools through its Good-to-Go Backpack program, giving backpacks full of kid-friendly yet nutritious food to over 1,400 children at risk of experiencing hunger over the weekend, when they don't have access to free or reduced lunch at school. And at mobile farmers' markets, The Foodbank delivers fresh produce, meat, baked goods, and packaged food to communities without a local food pantry. Last year, The Foodbank distributed 7.2 million pounds of food?2.2 million pounds of which was fresh produce?to people in need.
