Workout whizzes and novices alike will enjoy Zumba Influence owner and instructor Ashley Lenz's invigorating classes, which combine Latin-inspired dance moves with worldly rhythms from merenge to reggaeton. One-hour sessions can burn between 500 and 1,000 calories, as upbeat music charms serpentine holiday pies from winter bellies, and classmates motivate first-timers with interpretive dance moves of encouragement. Students of all ages can samba, belly dance, or mambo over to two locations for three evening classes–Mondays and Thursdays in Lincoln at 7 p.m., and Tuesdays at Concordia at 5:30 p.m. The Lincoln location has babysitters on-site to watch kids while parents work out, ensuring that youngsters will finish their homework with plenty of time to get started on the family's taxes.
