Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees?
I am a board-certified physician with additional training in aesthetic treatments, such as Botox and fillers. I am also highly trained in Bariatric Medicine (the specialty of weight-management and nutrition). Our staff are all certified by Obagi Skin Care, SkinMedica Skin Care. Myself and Madison are both certified in the CoolSculpting treatment, which removes unwanted stubborn body fat.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a patient?
"You have changed my life." We hear this almost on a weekly basis. Whether it is from a patient who was unhappy with their appearance or a weight-loss patient who has lost a lot of weight. Seeing someone with a low self-esteem walk around with confidence is truly rewarding.
What steps do you take to make your patients feel at ease?
Our office is very warm and inviting. We've been told it feels more like a spa than a doctor's office. Our staff ensures you are comfortable while waiting for the doctor. We offer hot tea, cool bottled water, or for patients to just relax in our lounge-like waiting room.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Our office is unique in that we have a board-certified physician who not only owns the practice, but sees patients at their visits. We are the only area practice that specializes in medically supervised weight management, aesthetic treatments, and CoolSculpting.
For the past 20 years, seasoned physician Dr. Birgit Toome has spearheaded Appearance Dermatology?s crusade against epidermal antagonists, a devotion that has garnered her multiple years in the Daily Journal's One of the Best listings. Dr. Toome and her team of assistants stay abreast of the latest medical and cosmetic skin treatments, remedying conditions of all kinds. Their arsenal of 13 noninvasive laser devices can resolve a range of epidermal maladies, from acne scars and freckles to unwanted hair and blatantly plagiarized birthmarks.
At Laser & Aesthetic Medical Center, PC, board-certified physician Dr. Kailash C. Singhvi personally administers each aesthetic and wellness procedure to ward off the effects of the aging process. With an arsenal of contemporary lasers at his disposal, he smoothens wrinkles from the face, reduces cellulite from the backs of legs, and destroys tiny Death Stars orbiting in front of the eyes. The youth-inducing beams can also remove hair or stimulate it to grow in areas where thinning has occurred. Injectables such as Botox and Juvéderm combat wrinkles, and Dr. Singhvi's wellness programs address internal maladies by identifying thyroid problems and hormones that may be causing weight gain. For ailments related to injury and sleeping on tables without face holes, Dr. Singhvi administers soothing massage therapy.
Author of The SuperLongevity Rx, Dr. Paul G. Grussenmeyer uses the latest technological advancements in a well-rounded approach to maintaining his patients' health and comfort. Dr. Grussenmeyer is one of the few dentists in the area to treat jaw-joint issues and upper-body pain, using methods such as intraoral appliances, myofascial-release techniques, and trigger-point therapy. He also harnesses cold-laser therapy to noninvasively treat tooth sensitivity, periodontal disease, and TMJ disorders. Instead of taking old-fashioned impressions with alginate or silly putty, Dr. Grussenmeyer creates digital impressions for restorations with the Cadent iTero 3-D system. Focusing on cultivating patient comfort, the caring doctor is able to use fewer shots and less anesthesia for soft- and hard-tissue procedures thanks to laser dentistry, for which he holds associate fellowship status and certification.
The Hughes Center for Aesthetic Medicine provides skin-soothing services for its clients in a medically sound and supervised environment. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive facial treatment that gently polishes away the dead outer layers of the dermis to cleanse the skin as effectively as confessing to a bubblegum theft cleanses the conscience. During the treatment, the Hughes Center's skilled aestheticians, led by the Harvard-educated Dr. Susan Hughes, will use a microscopic sandstorm of diamond chips to reveal the healthy, vibrant skin underneath, removing telltale signs of aging, weather exposure, and pensive soul-searching. After a soothing hydration mask and green-tea eye treatment finish up the procedure, you'll skip out of the office sporting the first face-flushed results of the treatment (multiple treatments are recommended to achieve the maximum results). The Hughes Center provides clients with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, as well as top-of-the-line equipment and products.
