Once you’ve bellied up to the cozy tasting room’s bar like an urbane, sophisticated cowboy, you’ll be treated to a few flavorful wafts and quaffs of Montaluce's finest 2008 and 2009 red and white wines, fermented from the carefully maintained fruits of its 35-acre vineyard. The 2008 chardonnay massages the nose with aromas of green apples, pear, and lemon zest mixed with smoke, walnut, and honeysuckle. And the 2008 risata (Italian for laughter) will put your palate into hysterics with notes of cherries, raspberries, cranberry, savory herbs, and just the faintest hint of Joker venom. Otherwise, go snorkeling for the dark chocolate notes buried in the oaky, deep violet, kraken-filled deeps of the cabernet sauvignon. Much like wine itself, your experience at Montaluce will be different depending on the exact point in time you partake of it. Gracious guests who arrive for their wine flight Tuesday through Saturday will be treated to a complimentary guided winery tour at 2 p.m. Likewise, Sunday sippers can tune their taste buds to live musical performances on the veranda from noon to 5 p.m.

L’Thai Organic Cuisine & Wine Bar's menu lists organic Thai dishes including curries made with vegetarian-friendly sauces and noodles and fried rice prepared on special high-heat jet stoves that can be found on the streets of Bangkok. Appetizers, such as the vegetarian-style spring rolls ($4.95), and soups, such as the coconut-based tom kha ($4.95), lull appetites into a false sense of security before entrees, such as the garlic pepper beef ($12.95) or tippling drunken noodle tofu ($12.95), sneak in to deliver the culinary coup de grâce. Diners can supplement their smorgasbord with L'Thai Organic Cuisine & Wine Bar’s extensive beer and wine list, which overflows with fine fruit bloods such as Night Harvest chardonnay ($7/glass, $23/bottle) and Silver Ridge cabernet sauvignon ($7/glass, $24/bottle).

At Varners Restaurant & Tavern, there is no shortage of things to do. The big game flickers on 30 high-definition televisions, and those seeking friendly competition can play pool, darts, or shuffleboard. The interior features exposed brick and rafters, and there's a bright patio out back, making Varners is a great spot for a bite and brews with friends. With 100 bottles and more than 30 beers on tap, the staff takes its brews seriously. Here's a sampling of the craft beers the bartenders pour from their gleaming taps:

Anchor Brewing's Anchor Steam: Hailing from San Francisco, this California common brew is handmade using the same methods Anchor—the first craft brewery in the country and one of the oldest in the world—has used since 1896.

New Belgium Brewing Company's Fat Tire: This amber ale is New Belgium's flagship brew and remains popular thanks to its precise balance of biscuit-like malt flavors and hoppy freshness.

Boulder Beer's Shake Chocolate: Colorado's first craft brewery brews this black porter, whose dark-chocolate notes are underscored by coffee flavors.

Magic Hat Brewing Company's #9: Crisp and dry, this fruity beer stands just this side of pale. Magic Hat's head brewer talked to the Groupon Guide about the inspiration for this unique brew.

After searching for an easy and affordable way to sample craft brews from across the country, Moondog Growlers’ proprietors began selling specialty suds in bottles that customers can bring back and refill with a new selection each time. The growlers hold between two and four pints depending on their size, bestowing beers with a shelf life of 7–10 days inside a fridge, 36 hours outside of a fridge, and 0.4 seconds inside of a thermonuclear jet engine. A rotating selection of 30 craft brews—which may include selections from famous hop houses such as SweetWater, Bell's Brewery, and New Belgium—changes based upon seasonal availability.
