When a student improved her ACT math score from 19 to 24 after taking his class, Dave Bobbitt knew he was onto something. He and the other experienced tutors at the ACT Help Center have made it their mission to help students improve their scores through interactive classes taught live online, where they demonstrate various problem types and take questions. The instructors only teach one subject each, which enables them to focus on their area of expertise rather than tutoring in a subject they’re not as familiar with or hurriedly trying to learn how to read.
The The Dive Shop's instructors, drawing from Scuba Schools International's programs, teach water-safety skills to fledgling divers and swimmers of all ages. Classes and activities range from the Scuba Rangers club?where kids aged 8?12 learn to snorkel and scuba dive from the safety of a pool?to open-water dives, swimming lessons, and more advanced stress-and-rescue dive sessions, during which instructors turn dog paddlers into almost-mermaids, minus the pet octopuses.

Designed by Emmy Award–winner and PBS-featured pianist Scott “The Piano Guy” Houston, Play Piano in a Flash instructor Don Nichols uses a quick and simple format to teach aspiring ticklers of ivory the basics of piano in a nontraditional format. The group classes of around 10–20 students foster a collaborative environment in which a teacher uses an overhead camera to demonstrate chord positions, useful techniques, and little-known shadow puppets like the wallowing lemur, which students can then emulate at individual practice stations. The simple philosophy teaches new disciples and piano latecomers to play chords and harmonies using the left hand and to walk through a melody of individual notes with the right. The eight-week course is intended to provide graduates the ability to read and play popular, listenable tunes, such as "Poker Face" in the style of Yanni.
