Though its programs have resonated with kids throughout the Denver area, Kids? Nite Out Across America was created with parents in mind. While kids supervised by staffers participate in fun activities?including swimming, sports, and music?guardians can enjoy a night off and take advantage of the time to go to dinner, see a movie, or eat all the ice cream they want. And to give them peace of mind, each Kids? Nite Out Across America staff member is vetted via a national background check every year.
Although Golden Goal Sports Complex's name refers to a soccer term for a winning goal made during sudden-death play, the facility's focus isn't limited to that popular sport. Aside from the 85'x140' indoor soccer field and a 60'x110' indoor training field, the complex also features batting tunnels and volleyball courts, and opens its doors to dodge ball, ultimate frisbee, and a soccer variant called futsal. In summer, kids and teens stream into Golden Goal for soccer camps with nationally certified coaches.
With over 160 centers nationwide, Athletic Republic has helped nearly one million athletes reach their performance potential by applying innovative techniques developed through decades of sports-science research. Designed to improve the ability to visually track moving objects, the Nike Vapor Strobe may grace athletic eyes with enhanced peripheral vision, reduced reaction time, and the ability to fast-forward through time-outs. During training, classes of up to six trainees practice their sport while wearing specially designed glasses that inhibit vision with rapidly blinking strobe lights. Wearers gradually adapt to the limited vision so that, when their full vision is restored, they can more effectively process visual information without undergoing the costly third-eye implants of traditional vision-enhancement programs. Classes run every weekday at 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. Though trainees may reserve their classes at any time, Athletic Republic recommends that trainees maximize the program’s benefits by completing the six courses within three weeks.
Through their event promotion and community outreach, the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation dedicates their time to recognizing local athletes and coaches, as well as improving lives of the region's citizens. Admitting Colorado residents of all ages and athletic abilities, the Rocky Mountain State Games is a multi-sport festival recognized by the NCAA. Organized and managed by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, approximately 9,000 athletes complete across 40 venues that include Memorial Park, Colorado College and others in the Pikes Peak Region. The State Games concept was developed in New York with the 1978 Empire State Games. Today, more than 400,000 athletes each year compete in State Games nationwide, including those with physical disabilities and visual impairment. State Games feature various sports from Pan American Games programs, as well as ones with regional popularity.
