Laser Legend's black-lit arena surrounds players in a scene that seems straight out of a science-fiction movie. Glowing planets and stars backdrop the 5,000-square-foot space, where fog creeps out from behind neon-blue walls and 14 robots guard bases. Up to eight teams fire lasers across two levels, competing during match types such as capture the flag or tickle the flag until it says uncle. The phosphorescent ambience also extends to the Glo Golf course, where alien forests and caves surround golfers as they line up putts. The course employs a multi-hole system that allows Laser Legend?s intergalactic greenskeepers to change the cup locations each week. Elsewhere, more than 40 games, such as Sno Cross, Dirty Driving, Doodle Jump, and Juke-n-Box, create a symphony of electronic beeps in the arcade.

The aromas of fresh-baked breadsticks lure visitors into the onsite restaurant, Noble Roman's Pizza, where chefs fry chicken wings, assemble italian-beef subs, and slide pepperoni pizzas into the oven. This casual Italian cuisine also fuels stomachs within Laser Legend's party rooms, where guests can watch satellite TV and birthday kids eat a breadstick for every year they've had teeth.

There are six orchestras in YOSA's orchestra program: the YOSA Prelude Strings, Capriccio Stings, Sinfonietta Strings, Symphony, Philharmonic, and Flute Choir. Although the Philharmonic draws in the most talented students in the region for professional-level concerts, all the orchestras guide students toward an enriched understanding of the world and the music within it. Together, they benefit more than 1,500 young people in the region—through direct involvement with the orchestra and through offshoot programs such as the free after-school instruction sessions on the west side.

At Entertainment and Video, we play music that is very upbeat. It's rare that people ask for a slow song. We specialize in weddings, but we put the same great effort into our presentation for a house party as to an event at a major venue. Se habla español.

Since 2008, the planners behind ZSR Event Productions have stayed busy, consulting on big events, managing crowds at large venues, and designing weddings that racked up awards from nuptial-planning sites such as The Knot and WeddingWire. Fortunately, they’re not shy about sharing the secrets of one aspect of their success: DJing. The company’s DJ Academy preps aspiring jockeys for parties of all types, from simple wedding-reception gigs to scratch-filled live mixing sets. Instructors with more than 20 years of experience teach single-session and multiweek courses, each of which cater to different experience and interest levels. Students learn about gear and software, coming away from their classes with DJ and producing skills as well as—thanks to the academy’s certification course—opportunities for employment.

After moving to San Antonio, avid climber Mark Bloyd fell in love with his new home, save for its lack of easy access to indoor climbing. With Climb’s portable 32-foot climbing wall, Mark found a way to share his love of aerial antics while accumulating funds to one day open his own indoor-climbing gym. Built in 2012, the wall includes routes for all levels of experience, which allows even beginners to feel the boost of confidence that comes from reaching the summit. Mark can transport the wall to birthday parties, work-related team-building exercises, and chain-gang reunions, where climbers build camaraderie surmounting its sides of synthetic granite. After climbers trace a path to the top using the wall’s hand-holds, they can ring a buzzer to signify their achievement before being lowered back to the ground by automatic belays.
