Barkspace is a boutique-feel dog facility and do not use kennels. We offer an atmosphere of being in a home, like most dogs are accustomed to. Our services include doggy daycare, 24/7 boarding, and full service grooming. We do not discriminate against oversize dogs or specific breeds. Our motto is Must Love Dogs..period!
Dr. Loretta A. Ehrlund felt a strong connection to animals from an early age and decided to become a veterinarian after her beloved childhood dog, Smokey, was diagnosed with epilepsy. This passion for wanting to heal pets stuck with her as she graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and went on to establish Heritage Veterinary Medical Clinic with Dr. Larry T. Ehrlund, her late husband. Another kind of love struck Drs. Travis and Michele Wright. Travis's fascination with riding and showing horses brought him to Texas A&M, where he studied to become an equine veterinarian. Growing up as the daughter of two veterinarians—Drs. Loretta and Larry Ehrlund, in fact—Michele was simply following in her family's footsteps when she decided to study veterinary medicine at the very same school, where she and Travis fell in love and eventually married.
Inside the full-service clinic, the doctors and their staff employ preventative-care treatments, dental procedures, and diagnostics to heal dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and small mammals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. Onsite x-ray and ultrasound equipment help detect trouble spots deep within critters, and the pharmacy is well stocked with a host of medicines. The facility's overnight boarding kennels provide a safe and healthy space for four-legged creatures to play and sleep.
Realizing that each pet comes with an owner, Heritage's veterinarians and dedicated staffers give their undivided attention to each client to help them determine the best treatment for their pet. Owners are also encouraged to use the clinic's extensive pet library, where they can read up on the latest treatments and theories about why all dogs can howl a perfect A sharp.
Tall fences and clean green turf outside; spacious, colorful pens with large tempered-glass doors and rubber flooring inside. There's also the wide-open training room with wood floors and a cot for pooches to rest on. At San Antonio Dog Training Co., the staff members' priority is to give canines a clean, safe place to stay and learn while receiving loving care. They understand it's hard for families to be away from their fluffy friends, so they not only offer comfortable quarters, but peace of mind, as well. The doggy hotel sports 20 air-conditioned kennels with antimicrobial and antifungal padded flooring, keeping pups cozy and hygienic. During their mini vacays, dogs get walked three times a day and engage in play time with their fellow furry tourists. For dogs in need of training, the facility offers private lessons that emphasize positive reinforcement. That means rewarding proper behavior with toys, treats, play, and verbal praise. Whether they're boarding or just enrolled in a class, all pooches receive first-class treatment.
When dealing with a timid and fearful dog, Eric Juarez, owner of Paw-riffic Cuts Pet Salon, has a wealth of advice. The first thing a person should do is let the pup take the lead. "Crouch down, extend your hand, but wait [as long as you have to] until the dog approaches you." Armed with a wealth of dog-related knowledge, Eric and his partner strive to provide expert grooming at affordable prices. Eric has years of experience tending to various breeds of dogs, as well as cultivating relationships with their owners. The staff uses biodegradable products when bathing dogs, selecting the correct product depending on coat color and texture. A line of imitation-designer scents keeps pooches smelling fresh, even if they've been sprayed by a skunk or played fetch with a Pacific bluefin tuna.
Austin Highway Animal Hospital has tended to quadrupedal companions since the 1950s, and currently rallies a licensed veterinary and support staff for comprehensive pet exams. Patrons can lounge with their dog or cat in the hospital's lobby, which entertains dwellers with a television broadcasting Animal Planet programs and a soap opera with an all-chew-toy cast. Furry companions then head to species-specific exam rooms, with spacious surroundings for pooches and a serene, quiet setting for felines.
Even pets that brush their teeth twice daily are prone to health issues—that’s where Friendship Pet Hospital and Wellness Center steps in. The caring staff at this AAHA-certified clinic helps keep furry companions in peak physical shape with comprehensive checkups. Veterinarians inspect teeth to root out dental disease and administer vaccinations to prevent common maladies in cats and dogs. A focus on breed-specific healthcare helps vets stay aware of which ailments most commonly afflict which pets, saving the trouble of testing Sphynx cats for hair loss. As pets visit with the doctors, complimentary cookies and beverages keep owners satiated.
