Once golfers step onto the grounds of Cedar Lake Golf Club, they become sworn enemies with the 166 rolling acres and their crowd of native wet and dry hazards. Among these are two large lakes?including Henderson Lake, which abuts the first fairway?and exposed granite outcroppings, which are something of a course signature. The 17th hole, one of three par 5s on the back nine, is particularly affected by a granite mound that sends shots ricocheting. Meanwhile, the course's namesake cedar trees trace the fairways, lending an outdoorsy mystique to every vantage point on the course.
Course at a Glance:
* 18-hole, par 73 course
* Total length of 6,538 yards from the back tees
* Five sets of tees per hole

Self-defense classes for kids and adults are the focus for this martial arts academy, in both group and private settings. During HapKiDo classes?a derivative
of classic karate?black-belt instructors Maurice Murphy and R.J. LoPresti lead
children through combat techniques that are designed to boost confidence,
improve focus, and avoid the high price of bodyguards. Adult training also incorporates meditation and
philosophy. The staff offers up nutrition tips throughout
class, and are available for one-on-one consultations.
