Tara Jones takes a picture every day, whether she’s working or not. This passion for aesthetic excellence landed her at the Brooks Institute, and her restless ambition led her to open Flare Productions a year before graduating. In the decade since, Tara has composed stunning shots of the Californian landscape, documented countless weddings, and captured the smiles of subjects lit by both natural light or the natural shine of teeth that’ve mistakenly gnawed on glow sticks.

Tara shares her infectious enthusiasm with the clients she shoots and the students she teaches. During introductory workshops, she elegantly explains how to manipulate manual camera settings to enhance the story woven into every still image. She also takes time to answer any questions that students may have in regard to printing or eating photos.

Helmed by photo instructor Hal “Bull” Schmitt, Light Photographic Workshops simplify Adobe programs with single-day, eight-hour sessions designed to turn Photoshop neophytes into pic-enhancing masters. The course will delve into Lightroom’s powerful, easy-to-use sliders, tools, and basic editing functions for removing apparitional pic crashers. Though not required, students are welcome to bring their Lightroom 3–equipped laptop to the class to follow along with the lesson plan or a notepad and quill pen to take notes. Upon completing the course, each student takes home an instructional DVD with more than 8 hours of material for multimedia reminders of the class’s subject matter and a 40 percent discount on their first fine art, photo, or fine-art gallery canvas wrap print order through Light Workshops. Students are encouraged to bring either a bagged lunch or lunch money to save personal computers and fellow students from accidental ingestions.

Cinematic is a good word to describe C&B Photography's style. They capture the drama in every moment through snapping objects at high and low angles. This technique adds depth and dimension to images and allows the viewer to see the subject in a unique way. A penchant for panorama also adds to the whimsy, allowing natural or architectural scenes to serve as picturesque backdrops. No matter the setting, C&B Photography captures memorable images during portrait sessions for families, models, and couples. C&B Photography also provides engagement and wedding photography.
