Group activities encourage children to try and think creatively.
Kickboxing classes deliver a knee to the face of fat, burning up to 860 calories an hour with the high-energy striking moves of martial arts and boxing. All four limbs get in on the bag-bludgeoning action at iLoveKickboxing as each class provides a full-body workout that tones arm, leg, and tentacle muscles while tightening the body’s core and improving balance. Hitting the heavy bags won't skin your knuckles once you don the included boxing gloves, which also double as excellent spring-loaded props for re-creating Three Stooges gags. Class times and dates vary based on each location: Woodinville, Seattle, Gig Harbor, Puyallup and Lacey.
Mambo Bravo's highly trained and enthused instructors teach students the hip-swiveling basics of the salsa, mambo, and cha-cha-cha. All classes begin with fancy footwork and basic dance moves, moving on to salsa once the class has gotten appropriately sassy. Students start in any Level-1 class and are promoted as soon as the instructor feels they can deliver a mistake-free Morse-code message to their downstairs neighbors. Level-1 classes usually last four to eight weeks, depending on the speed of the student's uptake and level of ability. Students will only advance if they attend at least one class a week during the month. Level-2 classes take 8–12 weeks, after which point students advance to Level-3 intermediate lessons.
Since 1985, the Real Estate Education Center has helped real-estate professionals advance their careers through licensing courses accredited by the New York Department of State. Instructors at all four city locations?each in a different borough?couple classroom teachings with their personal real-world experience, helping students to learn not only the nuts and bolts of the industry, but also how they?re put into practice. The center comprises six licensing and certification schools, including Real Estate, Green LEED, Appraisal, Mortgage, Property Management, and Insurance. Each track requires different coursework and testing; a compendious overview of those requirements can be found here.
Maura Kelley’s own pet, a french bulldog named Picasso, is more than enough proof that she loves both animals and art. An artist of more than 20 years—with a BFA in painting from the University of Hartford—Maura started Pet and House Portraits by Maura Kelley as a way to express her love of animals and art and share it with like-minded customers. Working in oils, pastels, and watercolors, she uses pets’ personalities as inspiration for their portraits, resulting in vivid portrayals of furry family members. Maura also crafts portraits of humans and houses and explores other creative outlets such as face painting and theatrical-set painting.
US Hospitality Group can place its certified bartenders anywhere from a cocktail lounge to a cruise ship. They work with a broad network of employers, and match their graduates with open bartending slots though career placement assistance that is available to graduates for their lifetime. The only prerequisite is their bartending course, which covers topics from exotic drink recipes to garnishes and proper customer-service practices, such as never serving a drink in a dog bowl, not even a long-stemmed one.
