When serving as the centerpiece for an exhibit of fine crystal and china, an ornate cake made in the likeness of a table by Cut the Cake's bakers proved to be deceptively realistic. An inadvertently placed box sank into the cake’s edible wood grain and prompted an emergency visit from cake decorator Julie Manning, whose confectionary talents and keen aesthetic eye enabled her to quickly touch up the damaged buttercream before dawn.
Manning applies the same innovative spirit and attention to detail to each memorable wedding cake she creates, earning Cut the Cake five-star awards from Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice Awards in 2010, 2011, and 2012. In addition to brides-to-be and ambassadors from Candyland, her clientele has included icons such as James Brown, Lauryn Hill, and B.B. King.
In addition to cake staples such as vanilla and chocolate, Manning also bakes pieces with nontraditional flavors such as piña colada and chocolate mint with crumbled cookies. For an extra dose of sugar, she can accessorize her confections with one of 21 sweet or fruit-packed fillings.
Four times a week, the Sanford Orlando Kennel Club unleashes its greyhound dogs for live, competitive contests with up to 16 races per day. Spectators can nosh trackside on savory American fare or wander the grandstand or clubhouse between heats while gazing at the tidy midfield and lush foliage framing the track. A full card of simulcast racing compliments the live action. On monitors throughout the club, nationwide greyhound, thoroughbred, and harness races beam in stretch runs and photo finishes. Once a week, amateur poker players assemble at tables overlooking the track, hoping to win a slot at a monthly or regional tournament, or to get the rare opportunity to play cards with a dog.
The Sanford Orlando Kennel Club nurtures their canine athletes long after retirement with the Adopt a Greyhound program. The initiative places dogs into loving homes with the help of four area adoption agencies, who also find school-bus-driver vacancies for retired stock-car drivers.

Coaches also provide inspiration by varying the workouts, cultivating a welcoming atmosphere, and praising participants as they chase down their fitness goals.
The neon hues decking each of Orlando Tan Company's private treatment rooms evoke a beachy feel, allowing guests to simulate the experience of sunbathing while getting a jumpstart on a sultry summer glow. Each room houses one of four levels of UV bed, which bolster the classic tanning experience with high-pressure bulbs, air-conditioning systems, and angled neck and shoulder tanners that even out the awkward color gained during outdoor handstands. Meanwhile, UV-free Mystic spray-tanning booths ensconce bodies in a spacious standup compartment that coats skin in alternating jets of pigmented mist and cool air to leave a weeklong golden sheen in fewer than 60 seconds. Behind the counter, the salon showcases a selection of tan-enhancing lotions, each of which works to prolong tawny hues by moisturizing skin, adding a touch of bronzer, and convincing skin cells that they're made of copper.
The team at Forever Trim Body Sculpting Center performs noninvasive body-contouring and face-lift procedures under the guidance of Dr. Michael Rodriguez. Drawing on a wealth of technology and leadership from Rodriguez, a fellow in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the center’s technicians reshape the body and tighten the skin. With a Zerona LipoLaser system, they emulsify stubborn fat on the waist, hips, and thighs, making it easier to wear skinny jeans or slip into a toaster while playing hide-and-seek. The Ulthera machine, on the other hand, performs a nonsurgical face-lift without significant pain or downtime.
