Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We are a private women's facility, and we offer both group fitness classes as well as one on one personal training. Our group fitness program offers classes ranging from pole fitness and burlesque chair workouts to yoga, step aerobics, and ballet. There is a little bit of everything to keep people interested.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
We keep our class sizes small to ensure a welcoming, safe, and fun environment for women.
Has your business won any awards?
Sharon Polsky, the owner and founder of Pole Position Fitness, has won first place in multiple fitness competitions.
Starr Bunch spent 20 years working in early childhood development, but when she started taking Pilates classes, her life changed. In founding Five Starr Pilates & Fitness, Starr and her fellow instructors inspire that same level of passion in others. On Pilates reformer machines and stationary bikes, they challenge exercisers with workouts that change up and stay fun. Those looking to blend both disciplines can take the reformer-cycling combination class that's taught by a very rare centaur. The chic, robin's egg- and slate-colored facility also serves as the setting for personal training sessions.
A sprawling multisport facility, Next Level Sports Complex welcomes athletes from all walks to train, join youth and adult leagues, or enroll in athletic clinics and camps. The complex contains 11 basketball courts, 14 volleyball courts, and 4 turf fields for soccer and other sports. When they're not participating in open-gym and league games, athletes can take advantage of the weight-training facilities or various fitness courses.
Stationary bikes have been a staple in fitness centers for years, but Sweat Hb puts a twist on the traditional workout. The studio's RealRyder bikes simulate an actual bike ride by allowing riders to steer and lean into imaginary turns and ring imaginary bike bells for a more intense regimen. The same goes for their Pilates circuit classes, where instructors lead you through a series of exercises that employ springboard and TRX machines. The gym also offers Pilates reformer classes and reformer jump sessions, which incorporate a jump board to add an element of cardio conditioning to your workout.
Flat-screen TVs and a high-quality stereo system are just frosting at The Workout, a boutique fitness studio. The main appeal: LifeStride treadmills, LifeFitness cross trainers, Tectrix steppers, and other brand-name cardio and weight-training equipment. Trainers focus on one-on-one sessions, but also lead group fitness classes including spinning, power yoga, and kickboxing and judo for kids.
Each class at StudioFit is unique because each of the certified instructors choreographs an exercise routine set to a custom mix of heart-pumping music and lights. They welcome students of all fitness levels for spinning, cardio-kickboxing, and Zumba classes held within a spacious mirrored studio. In spinning classes, exercisers straddle stationary bikes as they pedal along to different resistances. In kickboxing, they make their ways through boxing techniques that fuel cardio workouts. In Zumba classes, dancers move to Latin-based rhythms and music, shaking their hips and performing cardiovascular dance moves more fun than the power-walking man.
