Lots of kids start their own lawn-mowing business to earn extra cash. For 12-year-old Ryan Fellows, every neighbor's yard he cut put him closer to buying a shotgun so he could go hunting with his cousins, uncles, and grandfather. As the outdoorsy young man continued hunting, he also dabbled in competitive rifle shooting with his high school's JROTC team. Combining his advanced marksmanship skills with his love of martial arts, Ryan went on to earn multiple training certifications—awarded from institutions such as the state, NRA, and Glock—and applied them toward his own training business, as well as his post of director of US operations for SAFE International.
A self-professed "epitome of an entrepreneur," he also works as a professional photographer. His portfolio is loaded with sports-action shots and portraits of celebrities such as Luciano Pavarotti and Jamie Lee Curtis looking as contemplative and approachable as less-famous people.
Blackout Theatre works its ensemble magic to create original works that put fresh comic spins on familiar plays. This holiday season, the collective's ambidextrous minds embark on their most ambitious effort to date with an original, ensemble-created adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Stripping the classic of its stuffy Victorian setting, the troupe transplants the tale to St. Louis in the 1930s, where a colorful cast of seven strangers is stranded on Christmas Eve. The group amuses themselves by regaling the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, leading the characters to appreciate the spirit of Christmas and the superiority of American-made Santas. Imaginations run wild as the play erupts in soundscapes and original music composed by famed Albuquerque musician Monica Demarco. Family-friendly humor, indomitable holiday spirit, and arresting large-scale puppets flesh out the tale, garnering warmth, laugh, and ectoplasm-dripping hugs from Charles Dickens’s ghost.

Junior Jumps classes, open to 16-month-olds to 4-year-olds, blast music while kids play on balance beams, mats, hurdles, and other obstacles. In art class, kids between 2 and 5 years old work on projects that they can take home after class.
Ron and Olha Dolin didn’t discover their shared passion for wine and spirits until after they were married. Together they use Ron’s Ph.D. in engineering and Olha’s generational knowledge of producing vodka and brandy in Eastern Europe to craft handmade wines and fine spirits. Their wines include the specialty Emotion series, which includes cherry sherry, apple ice wine, and a wine made from rose petals. The two also distill spirits ranging from blue corn vodka and bourbon to gin made from New Mexico juniper, pinon, chamisa, sage, and rose hips.
