Knobby bonsai trees and cacti sprout wildly in the front yard, corralled by a hand painted stone wall bearing tarot motifs and the studio's name, House of Intuition Healing Studio. Small painted symbols even grace a few of the steps leading up to the house, establishing a cosmic energy that extends into the house's private treatment rooms and spiritual boutique.
Inside, experienced healers provide counsel and insight as they administer tarot readings, I Ching, reiki, and clairvoyant readings. During aura readings, healers leverage their sense of intuition to pinpoint energies surrounding the body and light bulbs hovering above the head. They further delve into manifestations of self during past-life consultations, which explore patterns of experience.
In the boutique, crystals of all sizes and colors glint and shimmer under display lights. Some items, such as purifying bath salts, dressed magic candles, and anointing potions, are created by the studio's staff.
The Art of You Holistic Center heals bodies with relaxing treatments performed both indoors and out. Classic facials and back treatments evict dirt from the skin, and massages?which range from deep tissue to Swedish?turn tense muscles into butter. The center also offers acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine and only uses natural products that are free of parabens, sulfates, and poltergeists.
Tao of Venus Wellness Center owner Beth Meneley draws on her master's degree in oriental medicine and a passion for healing to protect and mend patients' physiques through a diverse range of holistic therapies. Trained acupuncturists and chiropractors work to realign the body through time-honored methods, and seasoned massage therapists ease pain with a tailored blend of six tension-melting modalities. Thermography specialists boast the ability to detect cancer without the use of radiation through thermal imaging, which aims to find harmful cells through the naturally occurring heat of their weekly bake-offs. Before and after appointments, patients sip steaming cups of tea in an intimate relaxation room dotted with leafy plants, Eastern totems, and modern furnishings.
Hidden on a side street in Atwater Village, this one room spa is a clean and relaxing oasis for those who want a little pampering. Owner Leanne Lurie uses chemical-free products only at Lula Holistic Mini Spa, relying heavily on lines like Dr. Saulius Alkaitis and Epicurean Discovery. The custom Lula’s facial found inside this summery spa is a full 75 minutes of relaxing bliss, using quality techniques and plenty of high-end tricks to rejuvenate skin and leave customers smiling. Lula Holistic is an expert space for skin care solutions and microdermabrasion work, hot enzyme peels or glycolic peels that work to repair sun-damaged skin; each can be added to the facial for an additional fee.
