Loveland Yoga Loft transforms rigid-limbed organ vessels into lithe movement machines with yoga classes taught in a variety of styles. Vinyasa, Anusara, and Ashtanga classes provide challenging flows for developing lean muscles, straightening postures, and readying chakras for marathon sessions of badminton. Within a supportive and small group setting of up to 10 students, seasoned yogis provide plenty of one-on-one attention to help correct techniques and encourage strategic breathing patterns. Classes are scheduled multiple times daily, with flexible hours to suit the demands of students and their busy agendas battling sentient chemistry textbooks.

Certified fitness trainer and weight-loss coach Carolyn Stone's voice echoes across local parks as she motivates boot-camp students toward stronger, healthier versions of themselves. Having shed 110 pounds, Stone is familiar with the trials and tactics needed to conquer weight-loss obstacles, tackling them with a one-two punch of proper nutrition and regular exercise. She varies her high-intensity, yet fun, workout routines each day, scaling movements to accommodate each student's fitness level. Stone encourages healthful habits outside the classroom with nutritional coaching, helping students change their lifestyles with nutrition facts, meal plans, and snack ideas. After class, students have the opportunity to join their fellow classmates at the Breakfast Club, starting the day with smoothies packed with less than 250 calories.

In addition to boot camps, Stone also helps patrons shape up during one-on-one and small-group personal-training sessions. She develops dynamic, custom programs tailored to each client's fitness level and desired results, such as looking sculpted on his or her wedding day or carving washboard abs chiseled enough to clean wedding-day attire's red-wine stains.

When horticulturalist Brian F. Jorg isn't cultivating native plants at The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, he treks up to 20,000 miles a year on globe-trotting photographic excursions. As he leads guests through the Great Smoky Mountains or the Peruvian Amazon, he captures nature's grandeur with his digital camera, sharing his ever-increasing portfolio with the world through field guides, educational displays, and mass text messages addressed to “world.” Brian's passion for nature overflows not only into his photography, but into community activities. He can often be seen sharing his horticultural wisdom at area flower shows, teaching classes to the general public, or snapping dynamic images at sporting events.

Acclaimed as "the king of all flower shows" by Better Homes and Gardens, the Cincinnati Flower Show continues to wear the nectar-scented crown, wield the pistil-and-petal scepter, and rule with an iron stamen during its 21st-anniversary event. This year's bash of buds, blossoms, and bee bars features many exhibits and gardens highlighting floral feats. The Grand Marquee pavilion houses dozens of gardens and plant collections arranged into intricate designs, patterns, and structures, with special focus given to single-genus exhibits showing variety among specific types of plants, such as lilies or the recently rediscovered Ledzeppelinus Frontmanus. The Creative Containers and the Window Box Gardens exhibits highlight creative pots and planters, while the Artists' Studio shows off the work of oleander O'Keefes and rose Rembrandts. Floral exhibits include ornate table centerpieces and works by professional floral designers. More than 60 petal-peddlers will also be on hand at the Cincinnati Flower Show for those looking to get their green to go.
