At each of Brain Balance Center of Boston’s locations, a friendly staff of neuro-academic teachers, sensory-motor coaches, and nutrition experts put into effect their comprehensive program. In doing so, they aim to find customized, drug-free answers to behavioral and learning issues often associated with a variety of social disorders such as ADHD, dyslexia, and Asperger’s syndrome. These come in the form of an activity plan combined with nutritional guidelines.
When describing Master Paul Cervizzi, many terms come to mind: lawyer, Boston College alumnus, World Karate Union Hall of Fame inductee, and even World Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee. In September of 2011, Master Cervizzi earned the title of Soke by the International Alliance Sokeship Council, a title he wields proudly when teaching students at Cervizzis Martial Arts.
The expert instructors at Cervizzis Martial Arts lead classes for all ages and skill levels, ranging from child and teen self-defense to adult self-defense and fitness. They also lead specialty programs that include mixed-martial-arts classes, which combine techniques from styles such as judo, Brazilian jujitsu, boxing, and wrestling.
B&S Fitness Program is composed of four different fitness-related branches, all of which are overseen by cofounders Brandi and Steven Dion. At North Shore Boot Camp Company, Brandi and Steven, along with their staff, lead indoor and outdoor boot-camp classes at locations across Massachusetts. On the track, they coordinate marathons and triathlons throughout the year for B&S Event Management, and hit the races themselves as part of a running team called SpiderOne Racing. Since every team needs a home base, the duo also operates B&S Sport Science, a 10,700-square-foot facility devoted to research- and technology-based services such as ACL rehab and personal training.
For many people, multitasking means something similar to handling phone calls and typing at the same time. Boston Flight Simulator Academy teaches aviation’s version of multitasking—the kind that helps would-be captains see their way through a midair fog bank without running out of fuel. The academy houses both airplane and helicopter simulators, each one with four high-resolution screens that mimic the view of a pilot on the job. During simulations, Federal Aviation Administration–certified pilots and instructors accompany vistors in these simulators—typically, people with little to no aviation experience—and guide them through each immersive lesson.
Students begin with a course on the basics: flying level, turning, and climbing in altitude. After that, they can schedule classes based on specific missions, including takeoffs and landings at the airport or navigating a New Hampshire mountain range. Weather-based classes tackle scenarios from low visibility to thunderstorms, and Instrument Flying demonstrates how to safely enter and exit a cloud without popping it and causing it to spring a leak. Boston Flight Simulator Academy's simulators can help all pilots and students, regardless of experience level. Users can use both old-style steam gauge and modern glass cockpits for training, logging time, practicing flights, or meeting FAA requirements.
By answering any and all questions about their erotic wares, the staffers at Amazing Intimate Essentials have helped promote safe and sensual trysts for more than 40 years. Their selection of massage oils, lubricants, and adult toys—which occupies stores spread throughout the Northeast and Texas—contains goods from such established brands as We-Vibe, Jimmyjane, and K-Y. They staff female-friendly merchandise, as well as products that help couples create more sparks in the bedroom than a master metalworker soldering a "do not disturb" sign to the door. The staff stresses openness and acceptance in regards to romantic endeavors, an attitude that also fuels their unwavering support of the LGBT community.
Fluent City's campuses train tongues in the basics and nuances of up to 10 languages, depending on location, through interactive group classes. Experienced professors introduce groups of students to vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation in a student's chosen language. Languages are divided based on students' incoming level of proficiency, and group courses run for a total of 20 hours. Although not included with the class, students can also meet with instructors in flexible private lessons tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
