Mary Lee's encouraging pop-and-lock experts instill the passion of rhythm and dance in students ages 5 to adult through weekly hip-hop classes. Each 45-minute lesson begins with warm-up exercises that stretch out limbs to prevent participants from pulling muscles. Dancing protégés then take to the floor and glean tips on performing modern hip-hop maneuvers such as the glide, the harlem shake, and the properly grounded electric slide. Students must come appropriately dressed in clean sneakers—no street shoes—and comfortable dance clothes devoid of zippers and buckles. Class times vary depending on the dancer's age, so check Mary Lee's class schedule to find the most convenient class.

Voracious engines devour yards of pavement as stock cars and custom racers whip around Sycamore Speedway's track at top speed, relying on their tires’ tread to keep them glued to the ground. Occasionally, the rubber grip gives way and spectacular smashups ensue, a much-sought-after sight during a Friday night Demolition Derby. The track welcomes souped-up models from any year between 1965 and 2012 to compete in its Super Late Model category, during which a huge variety of chassis and a marching band equipped with jetpacks perform a breakneck parade around the track. As racers test the mettle of their adrenal glands, spectators kick back in ample stand space to enjoy hot dogs, sodas, and other refreshments that can be purchased onsite.

Since the first fairway drive in 1923, players at Sycamore Golf Club have sent their golf balls cruising down tree-lined chutes blanketed in pristine bentgrass in effort to conquer the course par of 71. The 18-hole course straddles the Kishwaukee River and extends to a total length of 5,817 yards from the back tees and 5,302 yards from the front tees. A meticulous maintenance team keeps the course in excellent condition, meaning golfers will rarely have to hit out of fairway divots or find their golf ball running away with vagabond gangs of crabgrass tumbleweeds. Course at a Glance: 18-hole, par 71 course Total length of 5,817 yards from the back tees Course rating of 68.2 from the back tees Course slope of 120 from the back tees Two sets of tees per hole Scorecard
