The team of veterinarians and technicians at Green Trails Animal Clinic make the time to personally get to know each family and pet who comes through the doors. That philosophy starts with the belief that a trusting relationship is necessary between the doctor and patients, especially when furry friends need medical care. Green Trails provides a full range of preventive care services for cats and dogs that include regular check-ups, vaccinations, and dental cleanings. For more serious ailments, the doctors also conduct emergency care and specialty treatments that include oxygen therapy and post operative recovery. And when you're away, the facility also takes animals in for boarding where they're fed, looked after, and taught how to win at chess.
Under the guidance of Shahid H. Chughtai, a doctor of veterinary medicine with more than two decades of experience, the staff at American Veterinary Clinic tends to dogs and cats with an array of procedures and amenities. The staff performs exams and vaccinations and arranges for surgical procedures to be performed by board-certified surgeons. Aside from medical services, the clinic offers grooming, dog daycare, and boarding facilities for cats and dogs.
Wild Birds Unlimited promotes the health of avian species at more than 275 locations throughout the country. Rockford owners Robert and Carol Bailey supply customers with the products and advice they need to transform outdoor spaces into chirp-filled habitats. Rockford's Wild Birds Unlimited promotes environmental responsibility with high-efficiency light bulbs, a high-efficiency rooftop, and extensive recycling practices.
After a long veterinary career in the Rockford area, Dr. Raj Patel retired. But then an area animal clinic closed, leaving the community without the resources they needed to care for their pets. Enter Dr. Patel to the rescue. At the urging of many local pet owners, Dr. Patel opened Animal Clinic of Rockford, and he now serves the medical needs of local cats and dogs with help from his son Ravi Patel, the clinic's co-director alongside Mital Balar, Dr. Patel's nephew. Pet owners can bring their furry friends in for preventative care, diagnostics, or treatments and surgery—as well as stock up on pet food and medications—to ensure their pets live long, happy lives.
In 1990, the owners of Summerfield Farm set aside part of their grounds and turned it into a zoo. Since then, they have introduced countless visitors to some 200- plus animals: monkeys, camels, zebras, and mountain lions, just to name a few. While Summerfield offers a unique, intimate viewing experience to guests across its 17-acre facility, the staff also showcases up-close interactions during animal encounter presentations. Summerfield Zoo also has a petting zoo, and visitors can ride ponies and feed baby goats with bottles.
