Though Miracles' quirky and diversely talented staff of stylists, massage therapists, and aestheticians aims to lift patrons' spirits with beauty transformations, their work did not wholly inspire the salon's name—the beauty sanctuary's original location was inside an old church. Owner Kendalia Edelman has since expanded her business into a larger location, enabling her to add an area for laser treatments that target everything from excess hair to leg veins. She also found space for Little Miracles, a separate salon where kids up to age 9 can get haircuts with supervision from parents and invisible friends moonlighting as style consultants.
The staff at Hybrid Salon combines artistic sensibility with technical savvy, and the result is one dynamic salon. And folks have noticed. For three years running, Hybrid has taken home the Talk of the Town "Costumer Satisfaction Award". Along with their outsized dose of talent, the staff arms themselves with only high-end Redken coloring products in their services and treatments. Beyond basic cuts and colors, they offer Brazilian blowouts, waxing treatments, nail art, and a full blow-dry bar. No matter the treatment, stylists make a point to meet with new clients before every service to ensure a personal touch.
Patricia Regner, a devoted mother with an MBA, has something else up her sleeve: she’s also the founder and owner of Miss Pole. After deciding that her life needed some serious changes, Patricia enrolled in pole-dancing classes and was so inspired, so enthusiastic, and so dramatically altered that she decided every woman should have the opportunity to feel confident, strong, and sexy. Hence Miss Pole was born.
At Miss Pole, she leads classes that explores fitness and physically challenging aspects of pole dancing fitness. She leads beginner, intermediate, and advanced pole-dancing classes that cover hundreds of moves that tone the entire body. Other classes include lap dancing, burlesque, and sexy/sassy stretching.
The stylists at Josie Studio One Salon come armed with a diverse lineup of haircare products, which spans from Moroccan Oil solutions for conditioning hair to American Crew products designed especially for men. They also call on Redken's popular line of styling and color products—appropriate enough considering their ranks include a hair colorist certified by Redken Fifth Avenue New York. When the stylists finish straightening and partial foiling clients' hair, they send the clients along to the salon's other specialists, who darken and lengthen lash lines with synthetic, semi-permanent eyelash extensions and wax away hair along the lip and inside the chin's backup supply tanks.
Nostalgic signage. Blast-from-the-past hair-dryers. Lichtenstein-style comic-strip prints. Rockabetty's Salon and Spa's interior decor may be a nod to the 1950s, but that doesn't mean its menu is outdated. Owner Angie Schulz leads a team of stylists who draw on current trends and techniques as they cut men's, women's, and children's hair as well as highlight, color-gloss, and perm tendrils. Those opting for a pedicure can relax in new pedicure stations as their feet swim in a deep pedicure bowl. Nails are then filed before being treated with a durable Shellac polish. Armed with Pharmagel products, aestheticians perform the haven's signature facial, customizing the service to suit the client's skin type and preference to be called only by their alter ego's name.
