Q&A with Eden Monteilh, Owner, Trainer, Instructor Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated? We keep our class sizes held to a max number to ensure a personalized experience with plenty of attention and help. Our pride is providing variety, current training methods, creative fusion formats, and amazing trainers/instructors. We also foster a strong community through our Facebook page, and we encourage our clients to interact with each other outside of the gym. To that end, we create teams for obstacle courses and host social events while encouraging a cohesive and supportive environment. Creating relationships helps people stay motivated and connected. Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts? Yes, and its one of the things that sets instructors apart from one another. Our only rule is no explicit music. One of our trainers only plays Reggae in his boot-camps. It's one of the many things that makes our style at 360 unique. What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student? It depends on the class, as far as intensity is concerned. We offer a variety that ranges from high-intensity and muscle-exhausting formats to low-key, gentle formats. But each class is personal: students are noticed and called by name so they know they are important to us. We encourage modifications so that all fitness levels can participate while encouraging people to push beyond their comfort zones. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? We are the only facility on the west side of the island that offers functional training and triathlon clinics. Our classes are designed to create a weeks worth of total conditioning from our High Intensity formats, to moderate and no impact formats, Yoga, Pilates and Myofascial Release. We also offer 360 Strong only formats such as Ballet Boot Camp, Run Drill Class, Plyometric Training, Cardi Yoga, TRX Boot Camps and more. If someone comes to us for one week and attends four various classes, they will have been thoroughly trained from head to toe, working dynamically and holistically.

  • Wet n' Wild Hawaii
They call it the Waimea Whirl. The latest addition to the attractions at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii, the water raft ride drops guests into a splash-filled bowl, where they stay glued to the wall through multiple spins before plunging into the pool. The new ride is just one of 25 exhilarating attractions at Hawaii's only the water park, which recently earned plaudits as Best Family Attraction from the listmakers at Honolulu Magazine. At the park, which stretches over 25 acres of verdant tropical landscape in Kapolei, thrill seekers can also tackle slides such as Shaka, an innovative wet/dry ride that sends riders screaming down a 36-foot drop that feels almost vertical. It's not all about adrenaline, though; tamer attractions include the Water World Playground, which features interactive children?s activities, and Hawaiian Waters, a 400,000-gallon wave pool powered by artificial waves. Adults can lounge on a deck chair by the inland shore, or grab a drink at the Sweet Spot Flow Bar and watch the latest sports or cheer aspiring surfers showing off moves on the Flowrider wave machine.

  • The Watercraft Connection
For 29 years, The Watercraft Connection has been helping locals and tourists alike explore the waters of Oahu. The family behind the business sends guests into a harbor nestled in the historic surf town of Haleiwa. There, folks board jet skis, ocean kayaks, or chartered boats and head out to explore the beaches of nearby Ali'i Beach, Puaena Point, or Anahulu river. Getting a close look at local flora and fauna is a big part of these expeditions. Customers can glimpse green sea turtles and wild peacocks while kayaking down the Anahulu, or spot dolphins and whales while lounging on chartered cruises. Diving and snorkeling trips offer a deeper perspective on coral reefs, sea creatures, and the pirates who evolved gills sometime in the 1700s.

  • Gunstock Ranch
The Gunstock Ranch has been a part of Greg Smith's family since 1973. Born and raised in Kailua, Greg grew up helping his father on the ranch, and today, he helps his five children with rodeo practice and 4-H studies. The local rancher leads a staff of experienced wranglers who share intimate knowledge of the land on a variety of scenic trail rides through the 650-acre property. Visitors explore winding paths through the Koolau Mountain Range like traditional paniolos, Hawaiian cowboys, and catch stunning views of Oahu and the ocean in the bright light of day or the warm glow of the setting sun. Expanding beyond equine excursions and care, Greg's wife, Kyndra, brought swimming lessons and aquatics to the ranch as a way to help children in the community and disprove the myth that you can bring a horse to water, but can't make it swim the breaststroke. The ranch's gentle horses and aboveground pool also make the Gunstock Ranch an all-encompassing destination for children's parties and special events.
