Agoura Boxing's team consists entirely of former or current fighters. It's a crew of boxers, kickboxers, MMA pros, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts that you wouldn't want to tussle with, but you'll be glad to have them on your side. Team spirit permeates each of their workout classes, where they instill students with confidence, self-respect, camaraderie, and the skills to become a professional fighter. The gym has the equipment for body-toning, calorie-flushing workouts that are suitable for all, and not just those questing for a black belt or cool MMA nickname.
James Deirmendjian had a decorated career as a brazilian jujitsu practitioner, winning martial-arts competitions and teaching submission grappling. He's parlayed that success into opening Fight Fit Training, where he helps clients get fit through boxing and kickboxing training, kettlebell workouts, and traditional lifting.
Iron Fitness's name and garage-like exterior might suggest that it holds a cavernous space full of musclemen and barbells. Instead, step through the doors and you'll find an intimate, boutique workout experience marked by 9,000 square feet of fitness machines and three studios with distinct identities.
Iron x PT specializes in personal training. During one-on-one fitness sessions, upbeat but tough-minded trainers analyze what clients need to do to reach their fitness goals, then motivate them to do it. Momentum, on the other hand, is all about the power of group fitness. Its instructors don't just follow workout trends—often, they set them, pioneering styles such as the hip-hop-based Groov3 and Pound, which celebrates percussive rhythms and prepares students for marathon meat-tenderizing sessions. Finally, the Elite studio connects gloved fists and with punching bags in a ring run by pro-level boxing instructors.
Matteo Baker didn't put ?220? in the name of his fitness center just to help people remember its street address. He did it to remind them of his goal for the center's services: to be ?second to none.? With body-bolstering services that range from personal training to chiropractic care to nutritional counseling, 220 Fitness and Wellness blends conventional gym practices with holistic wellness therapy to forge a multifaceted approach to health. While in one of three studios or out on the beach, guests can get hearts pumping in one of the center's group classes, including boot camp, cycling, and yoga, each of which take place frequently enough to let latecomers find a fun alternate class and early comers join in the previous class's naptime. When workouts are finished, the modern facility's licensed and certified health practitioners work to help guests recover from or prevent injuries with physical therapy, chiropractic care, and massage therapy.

Fitness changed Craig Stocker's life. Dedicated to physical activity since age 5 and a second-degree black belt in kung fu by age 18, Craig was always in top physical condition. However, after enduring a personal tragedy, Craig sought refuge in food, gaining weight and losing the will to care about exercise and everything else. He knew he needed to change—not just for himself, but also for his daughter, Cassidy. Craig mustered up his remaining strength and got back into the gym, undergoing what would be a six-month physical and mental transformation in his late 30s. Relying on his daughter as inspiration, Craig lost his excess weight and shed his depression, and now he shares his experience to motivate himself and clients whose lives often interfere with their ability to get in shape.
An NCCPT-certified trainer since 2002, Craig opened Marina Athletic Club to inspire others to change their lives. The private club houses weight machines, cardio machines, and free weights, with personal-training and group-training services leading patrons to fitter versions of themselves in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Craig also leads boot-camp classes, which cover cross-training principles in various scenic environments including parks, beaches, and inside Monet paintings.
