Small boutique studio for those who crave a more personal experience. We limit classes to 8 ladies so you have enough pole time, and one on one instruction to advance quicker.
Many of our students are suburban moms and range in age from 20's to 50's. We are a supportive safe place to connect with your feminine power.
Part of Therapy Services Plus and named for its location above it, Yoga Upstairs elevates visitors’ spirits and fitness levels with accessible Hatha- and Iyengar-style yoga classes, as well as basic, gentle, and Vinyasa flows. Sunlight warms the bamboo floor of the practice space as seasoned teachers demonstrate movements to help strengthen muscles and center minds. Iyengar class instructors walk students through routines to open joints and cultivate stamina, and students perform restorative-yoga routines to melt stress with gentle stretches and breaths deeper than a bass solo inside a moon crater. In addition to posing on mats, students can visit the studio’s four-panel yoga wall, where sturdy straps assist inverted moves and other advanced body-weight exercises without risking injury. Like a medieval castle’s daycare center, many classes incorporate blankets, blocks, and sandbags, which help students hold their poses as they hone their alignment.
You’ll be free to stretch yourself in a dozen different flavors of yoga yogurt at any of the eight YogaWorks LA-area locations (see sidebar for locations covered by this Groupon). Today's deal cannot be used towards Pilates classes, but it is valid for Pilates mat classes.
Exhale Spa seeks to transform its clientele inside and out. The founding team of fitness professionals and aestheticians sought to create an environment where they could empower visitors with pampering spa treatments, invigorating fitness classes, and lifestyle education, helping clients attain a sense of control and holistic balance. Now with 19 locations across 11 cities, Exhale Spa and its signature services have earned mentions in numerous national publications, including People magazine, the New York Times, and O, The Oprah Magazine.
Exhale's signature Core Fusion classes incorporate dance-inspired stretches, yoga poses, and Pilates exercises into total-body workouts that build long, lean limbs and sturdy abdominal muscles over time. For an even more varied workout, the instructors introduce boot-camp techniques, cardio exercises, or multiplication tables to select sessions. Yoga classes present a similar amount of breadth and variety, drawing inspiration from a number of introspective and physically oriented styles. To help hasten physical transformations, nutrition and wellness coaches teach attendees about the impacts of diet. These sessions build an awareness of healthy eating habits through custom meal plans and by teaching clients how to identify the edible parts of a fruit basket.
Many of the center's traditional spa services seek to inspire confidence. Facials pamper and refine skin using everything from green tea and fruit extracts to microcurrent technology, and mani-pedis revitalize digits before glazing nails with a vibrant new coat of color. Bodywork treatments look beyond physical relaxation and focus on holistic concerns. Massage therapists can use Eastern or Western modalities to soothe overstressed musculature, and acupuncture treatments and reiki sessions jump-start natural healing processes by encouraging the free flow of inner energies.
Yoga can be a lot of different things to different people, but at Yogis Anonymous the staff believe it should be about one thing about all else—fun. Believing that a welcoming community, a relaxed, laid-back environment, and promises of free baked goods will bring more people to yoga, Yogis Anonymous offers in-studio and online streaming classes, as well as events and workshops with guest teachers. Experienced instructors lead a variety of classes for practitioners of all levels, including Basic, Moderate, and Strong, which offer ascending breath work and pose challenges. Inside the studio, class-goers will find a soaring ceiling, honey-colored hardwood floors, and plenty of natural light to aid them on their yogic journeys towards strength, flexibility, and quiet minds.
