When Ray went to college, he followed in his father's footsteps and studied for a career that would have kept him at a desk all day. But Ray has always been active, and he realized he needed to find a career that would allow him to interact with people. Initially, he trained in physical therapy—but when he discovered athletic training, he knew he'd found his true calling. For more than 13 years, he's dedicated himself to helping people achieve their fitness goals. Now, as the fitness-programming director at Seek Fitness, Ray is passionate about helping members get results with an effective training system. But even as he and his trainers encourage clients to push themselves, they still aim to make classes fun and a little crazy.

Seek Fitness focuses on three types of classes. During Zumba, trainers pump up Latin music, '80s and '90s throwbacks, and current dance hits, then throw themselves into easy-to-follow choreography that gets everyone sweating together as they party away calories. The trainers change up boot-camp routines for each class; on any given day, students might be swinging kettlebells or using TRX suspension bands. Energy-packed Fusion classes are designed to keep students moving for a full 50 minutes, whether they're taking jabs at focus mitts, pummeling punching bags and piñatas, or going through kickboxing combinations. At the end of class, trainers want everyone to be tired and sweaty but liberated from stress and proud of their workout.

La Femme Fitness & Dance was created by women as a flirty alternative to monotonous fitness regimes, helping their fellow ladies unleash their inner vixens while whipping them into shape. The studio’s supportive instructors conquer inhibitions and liberate muscles with workouts that unite pole dancing, sensual movement, and fitness techniques to strengthen both minds and bodies. Through classes including pole dancing, butt-shaping booty camp, and exotic-dance classes, they help women hone their self-confidence and sculpt fitter frames in all the right places—upper bodies, waists, and thighs—without losing their curves. The instructors disguise elements of yoga, Pilates, and resistance training within their sultry dance routines, which are inspired by techniques from ballet, belly dancing, and the re-shelving motion of librarians.

In addition to flirty fitness classes, the instructors host pole-dancing parties, livening up bachelorette parties and girls night out. They encourage partygoers to don stilettos, costumes, and props as they slink around poles and light fires of desire with exotic dance moves. Though the staff at Super Kickers focuses on teaching children the basics of soccer, their efforts don't end with sports instruction. In addition to leading youth in soccer-focused activities in the seasonal indoor and outdoor sessions of their youth soccer program, they also conduct an after-school club that merges physical activity with music and arts. And as an after-school program alternative, the staff also helms a series of Flex Pass programs spanning music, crafts, and fitness for stuffed animals. Children might make art using paints, marshmallows, and shaving cream, learn to sight-read and play the piano, join in yoga-centric imagination games, or practice keeping rhythm and melody with singing, tambourines, and egg shakers. Additionally, during summer and holiday camps, coaches and teachers lead children in indoor or outdoor soccer games, as well as other seasonal activities such as music and dance, yoga, crafts, martial arts, and bounce house time.

At Sweat Fitness NYC, students don’t just sweat from exertion—some of that perspiration might comes courtesy of the center’s heated studio. During the signature Hot Power Fusion courses, instructors crank up the heat for a class that fuses Pilates moves and yoga poses. The studio hosts room-temperature classes as well; pole-dance classes teach sultry spins and lifts, and Zumba sessions get feet moving with simple Latin dance moves. Regardless of the class, the supportive instructors regularly switch up their routines, preventing workout boredom without hanging really cool mobiles from the classroom ceiling.
