A serious accident took TNT Fitness?s founder Tag Dundas?s physical and mental health, right down to his ability to walk. During his journey to recovery, he transformed his life. It took hours of work and training, but Tag regained all his functionality, and the experience had him sticking with the gym until well after his time in physical therapy had come to an end. His new fitness far surpassed what it had been before the accident, and he decided to become a personal trainer to help others achieve those goals they always thought were impossible.

Today, Tag and his team of trainers help clients strengthen and condition their bodies in group fitness classes and personal training. Michelle, Candice, and Sherri, who conducts cardio and core exercises, and Colleen, who conducts beginner classes, help equip athletes to excel with tailored training that focuses on building the kinds of speed, strength, and agility needed for each sport. Tag himself has logged nearly 1,000 hours using TRX resistance bands in personal-training sessions and boot camps. He affectionately calls the camps T-ReX boot camps, after the dinosaur renowned for its strength, ferocity, and ability to perform a perfect unassisted sit-up.

Inside a room heated to a balmy 105 degrees Fahrenheit, a certified Bikram yoga instructor leads students through eagle, locust, and rabbit poses. These poses, part of a 26-asana sequence designed by yogi Bikram Choudhury, are intended to increase oxygen and blood flow through every inch of the body. Though the physical benefits of a stronger, more flexible body are undeniable, the good done to the mental and spiritual selves can only be described—a greater sense of peace, increased mental clarity, and the ability to tolerate people who talk about their night dreams. Eager to share its passion for the practice, the staff at Bikram Yoga equips new students with everything they need to succeed. Friendly receptionists hand students towels and mats before pointing them in the direction of clean, sleek changing and shower areas. The studio itself is constantly filled with purifying practitioners, as a deep bench of certified instructors teach both morning and evening classes seven days a week.

At each of Oxygen Yoga & Fitness? locations, trained fitness instructors guide students through a seven-day schedule packed with yoga, boot camp, meditation, and TRX suspension training classes. The modern studios come equipped with infrared heated yoga rooms where students strengthen muscles during yoga poses as the specialized light aims to improve their skin tone and erase their cellulite. During TRX suspension training sessions, exercisers are suspended in the air by belts attached to the ceiling and use their own body weight to fight gravity. The classes are designed for all fitness levels and aim to build long, lean muscles and give guests a place to practice their levitation skills. The studio also schedules kids' yoga sessions designed to increase children?s confidence and provide full-body workouts.

Marcus Vinicius de Macedo Soares became a part of Carlson Gracie, Sr.'s world-famous jiu-jitsu team in 1970, where he was a part of the first class of Carlson Gracie's students unleashed upon the world. He continued to compete and train for years, eventually earning his 8th degree black belt, a journey which also saw him relocate from Rio de Janeiro to Vancouver. Here in Canada, he eventually founded Carlson Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/MMA to pass on the techniques he had learned from his master to new generations of fighters.

Today, the team continues to produce champion athletes at the school and abroad. They have a team of six coaches helping to handle the full week's worth of classes taught at the facility. Over the years, they have expanded the education available to students beyond jiu-jitsu, offering muay thai, boxing, wrestling, and other arts that can help enhance one's MMA skills or add to the list of reasons why it's dangerous to high-five you.
