Manatees leave a circular ripple on the surface of the water, much like footprints on the aqua waves. This is how captains Barry—who Kate Barker for The Marco Review describes as "knowledgeable and informative"—and Carol Berger spot manatees as they guide up to six passengers on private boat tours through the Everglades near Naples and Marco Island. During each 90-minute eco-adventure, the boat's captain enlightens guests about the "sea cows" as they watch them peek their noses out of the water, revealing a glimpse of their sweet faces and big, soulful eyes.

The doors of a vintage-inspired trolley fold open, inviting guests to recline in one of the padded seats for a windows-eye view of Naples. During a two-hour sightseeing tour that skirts along the coast, the driver contributes to mental history books with interesting facts, anecdotes, and humorous stories, bringing to life the one hundred points of interest on the tour’s route. Hop-on, hop-off access lets guests jump off as many times as they'd like at any of the 23 stops if a site strikes their fancy or if a fire hydrant starts spraying ice cream. Patrons can then reboard when a trolley returns one hour later. The trolleys are also available for charter services, wedding parties, or office outings that want to get a look at Naples's most attractive highlights and ugliest construction zones.

The fleet at Naples Transportation and Tours includes 55 vehicles, meaning there's something suited to most needs. There are 16-passenger limo buses with DVD players, strobe lights, and a PA. There are sleek sedans for airport pickup. Small touches matter here, too; all rides include chilled bottled water and copies of Experience Southwest Florida magazine, and they're overseen by a team of 100 skilled drivers and guides.
