Step It Up Fitness’s immersive signature boot-camp program engages patrons in nutrition counseling and motivating group training that SmyrnaVinings.com lauded as the area's best boot camp in 2010. Four days a week, campers gather before dawn for 70 minutes of rotating agility drills, strength exercises, and calisthenics fueled by a trainer's ardent cheers.
After trainers test each participant's athletic mettle, they assign them to a team of similarly able bodies or similarly bodied androids. Group accountability and sweaty camaraderie knit these crews together to help their members build confidence as well as lithe, powerful physiques. An accompanying nutrition program extends camp support through mealtime, doling out personalized plans rooted in the food pyramid. Athletes log meals and resultant adventures in Slumberland in a journal to share with their instructors, who use the data to make recommendations for increasing energy and meeting fitness goals. In addition to its boot-camp classes, Step It Up Fitness hosts weeklong speed and agility classes for youths that are led by a staff of experienced certified instructors.
Players never know what to expect when they step into SAS Black Ops Indoor Airsoft Arena's 13,000-square-foot indoor airsoft arena, That's because SAS Black Ops' staff didn't build it with permanent structures or referees super glued into position. Instead, they use interlocking black panels to construct rooms and obstacles that change often, keeping things fresh with brand-new layouts. Players can plan for these scenarios using the briefing area's scale model before entering the colorfully lit arena blaring realistic battle sound effects to duck, fire plastic BBs, and complete missions.
However, the airsoft field occupies just one section of SAS Black Ops' 27,000 square foot facility alongside an indoor airsoft shooting range. Birthday parties can be held in rooms decorated as army tents with canvas walls and camo netting ceilings, as teams gather in the arena for corporate team building sessions. Spectators can watch the action from the live video feed in the air-conditioned lounge that's equipped with wi-fi or choose to spend time playing arcade or air hockey games on the facility.
Generations-old Thai family recipes and established Japanese cooking techniques continue to inspire the cooks at Fuji Hana & Thai Peppers. Hibachi chefs man the dining room's six tabletop grills and sear entire orders of scallops or filet mignon right in front of transfixed guests. Hibachi-grilled lobster tail even makes its way onto the restaurant's sushi menu, which includes 12 specialty maki selections that attempt to elevate sushi with sriracha sauce, dried cranberries, or cleverly disguised helium balloons. The Thai menu items remain more grounded in familiar flavor combinations, such as spicy basil fried rice and panang curry with coconut milk and dried chilies.
The colorful cuisine stands in stark contrast to the deep, soothing earth tones that fill the dining room. Hand-laid mosaic tiles complement the dark leather booths, and a 31-foot oak bar surrounds the sushi chefs and bartenders as they dexterously assemble orders.

Q&A with Cathy Bell, Owner
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
People usually quit because they do not feel as if they know what they are doing or they get bored with what they are doing. Our teaching program and pace are designed to conquer many reasons for exercise dropout.
What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own?
A lack of knowledge and understanding of what to expect from the body when you do begin working out. Frustration sets in, and when you do not have a schedule or system for exercise you won't exercise.
Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?
Community and gym social life is a big deal in the CrossFit world. Classes are programmed for cool-down techniques and catching up. We teach stretching, foam rolling, mobility and all sorts of self-massage and care for our worked out bodies.
