CrossFit Medford's gym looks a little bit like an auto garage. And that's appropriate, because their trainers are in the business of bodywork and revving fitness engines. They do so by leading exercisers through functional movements, performing them at a high intensity. By teaching these motions, such as pushing, pulling, and lifting, they ready their students for physical exertions while playing sports or working. Trainers use everything from pull-up bars and kettlebells to ropes and resistance bands to get the job done. Making all-new routines daily also ensures their students get a completely workout and don't get bored. To ensure they all can follow through with those workouts, they scale them to individual needs and fitness levels.

CrossFit workouts are not meant to be easy, though they are meant to be accessible to students of any fitness level. They incorporate functional movements alongside elements of track, gymnastics, and weightlifting, encouraging students to push themselves through sequences of pulling, squatting, jumping, throwing, carrying, sprinting, and levitating. Yet every drop of sweat falls in a safe and supportive group environment. Muscles are kept guessing with new and challenging moves during each session, so participants never fall into a boring, ineffective routine, such as regular teeth brushing. In addition to the fitness classes, students receive a success guide to help prepare for imminent pound loss, a nutrition guide, and a $100 gift certificate for individual coaching.
