At Pilates Plus Restoration Studio, instructors Laurie, Michele, Archana, Dee, Linda, and Sue lead
workouts that put every client in the pilot seat of his or her own fitness journey. The instructors and space work in unison to cultivate a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere. During six different types of classes, machines like the Cadillac, the Reformer, and the Ladder Barrel challenge the body in dynamic ways.
Group fitness is the focus here, but the team also offers Reiki therapy, private lessons, and small group workouts. Small group Reformer classes include Reformer, Spine Corrector, and Rings & Rollers.
Raquel Gleason discovered her calling while dealing with her mother’s battle with breast cancer. She enlightened her mother and others about the physical and mental benefits of exercise, benefits Raquel experienced herself after Pilates helped correct her spine and foot issues. Today, certified in such skills as personal training, Pilates, CPR, and first aid, Raquel runs Rebel Pilates, where she leads private and group sessions in Reformer Pilates, step-board dance, and barefoot Bhangra (Bollywood) Indian dance. By exposing clients to Pilates and dance, Raquel strives to impart total-body balance, which could previously only be achieved by a steady diet of gyroscopes.
The Yoga Sanctuary's impassioned instructors helm an extensive array of classes that cater to varying skill levels and yogic interests. Tasked with centering minds and corralling stampeding thoughts, Hatha sessions indulge arching limbs with a gentler yoga style that bolsters stamina and mindful concentration. Vinyasa classes enlist a dynamic series of fluid transitions that integrate measured breaths, crafting an invigorating sequence of poses that flows with the grace of a waterfall in zero gravity. Throughout the kinesthetic symphony of Ashtanga yoga's intensive regimen, the style's Primary Series of poses sculpts lithe limbs with powerful postures that hone the strength and flexibility needed to arm wrestle an octopus.
