  • Nexxt Level Sports
There's room for all types of workouts in Nexxt Level Sports' 22,000-square-foot, climate-controlled facility. Basketball players can hone their technique on two NBA-length hardwood courts, and baseball players can perfect their swings in 70-foot batting cages instead of going to an orchard and waiting for regulation-sized apples to fall. In group-training classes, meanwhile, gym patrons can focus on strength or build endurance with varied circuit workouts, including strength and resistance training. For a more private workout, personal trainers also lead one-on-one sessions, tailoring their exercises to the clients' fitness goals.

  • Freeride Bike Shop
After opening this friendly neighborhood bike shop in 2005, Freeride Sports owner Pasquale Bocchicchio quickly expanded his enterprise to include everything from motorcross to skateboarding to snowboarding, making it his mission to spread the soul-freeing, stress-abating power of extreme sports across the Haddonfield community. Tote a traditional tandem, mountain bike, or BMX cycle to pay a visit to in-house mechanic Perry Buffo who can help whip it into shape in time for summer rides or its sojourn into Italian cinema. A Basic Tune ($44.99) covers adjustments to the front and rear derailleurs and brakes, and includes a thorough safety check and bath, whereas a Basic Plus Tune ($69.99) tacks on a truing of both wheels for smoother street coasting. Cycles suffering from creaky joints benefit from a Power Tune ($99.99) where a greasing of both wheels or the stem and bottom bracket will help keep it limber and prevent steaks from sticking to its spokes. A Power Tune Plus ($149.99) sees the whole bike broken down and rebuilt into a stronger, more spry, handsomer version of itself with fresh grease applied to every pivot point. Or, take the total velocipede transformation one step further with a complete refurbishing ($199), which sees the two-wheeler sent out for repainting and returns it completely rebuilt with absolutely no memory of its former life as a CIA operative.

Lightweight polyurethane rain jackets (starting at $39.95) deflect pelting cloud teardrops from diminutive frames. Fellow campers can graffiti the hot-dog autograph pillow's sparkly frank and tie-dye bun ($24.95) with commemorative signatures or medieval family crests. • International Sports Center of Cherry Hill
The three fun centers give energetic cubs a place to stretch their legs and giggle their lungs out by housing a variety of amusing, aerobic activities. Roller skaters twirl and glide during International Sports Centre's and Deptford Skating's public skating hours, turning ordinary weekend afternoons into carefree roller romps. Feet ditch roller skates for socks inside FunZone, a multilevel maze of nets, slides, and monkey bars that spurs boisterous rounds of lava tag. Adventure Alley also occupies lively limbs, this time with bouncy inflatable playgrounds, such as Roo's giant slide, a popular alternative to doing algebra on a trampoline. Only children ages 10 and under are allowed in FunZone and Adventure Alley.

  • Breakaway Fitness
Breakaway Bikes grew out of a friendship between Glenn Krotick, a spinning instructor, and Joe Wentzell, a graduate of Temple University’s exercise-science master’s program. The earliest incarnation of the shop revolved around Joe’s science-based training program, which today exists in the form of RPM classes. Here, participants pedal their own bikes as a human coach and a CompuTrainer team up to help them target different training zones based on power and heart rate, ideal for those training to outrun a herd of buffalo. While fine-tuning their RPM concept, the dynamic duo delved into the racing scene. Joe, a former Division I defensive tackle, lost more than 100 pounds as he went from novice cycler to Cat 2 elite racer. Glenn applied his biking skills to triathlons, becoming the Mid-Atlantic Masters Champ for international distance in 2007. As they honed their athletic skills, they began to offer performance-enhancing services such as biometric evaluations and custom bike fittings, many of which use Retul technologies and Fit Kit methods. Throughout the years, Joe and Glenn’s inventory of bikes and accessories has grown as well. Today, their shop brims with bikes by manufacturers such as Trek, Scott, Cervélo, and Felt, plus cycling apparel, helmets, tires, and a host of accessories, from child seats to taillights. In the showroom, attentive staffers match shoppers with bikes that match their body type, riding style, and spinning bow-tie collection. Visitors can also score out-of-production parts for vintage bikes in the repair shop, where friendly technicians tend to bearings, brakes, and chains.
