Jittery jitterbuggers, shy salsa dancers, and timid tango-ers watch out: TC Dance Club International is out to recruit you. The friendly instructors at this dance studio love to teach beginners––in fact it's their specialty. They offers lessons in a wide range of dance styles including waltz, swing, foxtrot, rumba, salsa, and nightclub, and tailor each lesson to the student's experience level, even if they've never danced a step before. What's more, the studio even schedules practice parties where new dancers can try out their moves with other newbies before hitting the clubs or sashaying down the aisles of their local supermarket.

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
When I first started living in Des Moines. We are an arts-based organization with a passion for sharing our mission, and everything we do requires that passion to be carried forward into the community, and into the education that we provide to the youth.
I'm a first-timer. How do you get me ready for the experience?
If you like the arts, if you like to have a good time. And if you like to run, the Rock n' Run is the perfect combination. The best way to get ready is to bring your friends along so you have others to Rock Out with. The more people, the more opportunity for fun.
What is the one feature of your business that you're most proud of?
Arts education. It's fun for all ages, and helps the community in ways that will last a lifetime.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
The arts build communities. Greater Des Moines will be recognized as a place where the arts thrive because of Metro Arts Alliance.

It isn’t uncommon for the vastly different worlds of charity fundraising and pole dancing to collide at various local philanthropic functions throughout Iowa. That’s because staff members at Wicked Enchantment Pole Dancing & Fitness Studio continue to prove that pole fitness can benefit their community as well as raise money for organizations such as Children's Miracle Network and Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. They channel this same spirit of support during their group and private classes back at their ladies-only workout venue.
They restrict their pole-based classes to six people, fostering an intimate and supportive environment for women to master climbs, grips, and twirls. Their curriculum also hones in on the healthy aspect of the art, listing classes that target arms, abs, and cores as well as full-body boot-camp workouts. They teach several levels of pole dancing and corresponding choreography classes, building fluid routines by augmenting maneuvers with transitions and lubricating arm joints with 10W-40.
You won’t find any treadmills or rowing machines at Vitality Fitness & Dance Studio. Rather, the studio’s rooms feature an expansive wall of mirrors and rows of poles ready for workouts. Pole-dancing aficionados guide students through muscle-sculpting workouts with a sultry edge. Chairs, hats, canes, and feathers accompany burlesque dancing classes. To slow things down a bit, the Vitality for You class leads participants through 45 minutes of stretching exercises, helping students who want to gain the flexibility to massage their own back after workouts.
